Please sign up for May Adult Formation Series- Ascension Conversation
In May we will discuss together in small groups how we go about seeking and serving Christ in all persons, loving our neighbor as ourselves and striving for justice among all people, respecting the dignity of every human being. Each week we will take a different specific topic and apply our Baptismal Covenant. Topics include empathy, COVID, racism and caring for the planet. We’ll meet in the Parish Hall for a brief introduction of the topic and then break into small groups for the rest of the hour for discussion. This series will run May 1, 8, 15, and 22 from 9:15-10:15am in the Parish Hall. Register here.

ECW Spring Finale and Auction - May 8th & 10th
It’s that time of year again. We are preparing for our annual auction and closing meeting (May 10th) and we need your auction items!
This year, instead of cleaning out your closets, think of donating your gifts and talents! Each of you has something special to share. Some of us are artists who paint, throw pottery, knit, or sew. Others of us are gardeners who can quickly assemble a colorful pot to share or offer a special plant from your garden or even a tour of your garden. Some of us like to entertain. Think of offering a margarita party on your deck or patio or a special luncheon or dinner, or even offer a frozen dish off one of your favorite recipes. If you are a baker, offer a cake at a time TBD, fresh bread or cookies. Some of us are collectors ... offer a tour of your art, historic memorabilia, or collectables If you have a boat or cabin or guest house to offer for an outing or weekend, that would be wonderful. The possibilities are endless. … get creative!
Of course we need auction items of value either new or gently used; a designer purse, a silk scarf, a vase, a treasure or two. Think of the fun Christopher will have finding the highest bidder for our gifts and talents!!!
To broaden our pool of bidders this year, we will offer our items to the whole Parrish for bids the Sunday before our Spring Finale. Each item will have a "BUY IT NOW" value for purchase that day. Otherwise, folks can make a bid and hope no one at our silent and live auction out bids them.
We need your help to pull this off. Come up with your auction items and complete an auction form. They are available on the information table at church.
For more information email Mary LeMense @ mary.lemense@gmail.com or leave a message @ 865-776-3608.

The Merry Month of May will offer some more opportunities to celebrate God's creation in several different places. The first will be on Wednesday, May 4 in the Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area near Oneida TN. The 3.6 mile Burnt Mill Loop hike will be led by Dale Allen (cdrdaleallen@gmail.com). This loop trail parallels Clear Fork River most of the way and is rated moderate because there are some stream crossings and some rock stairs. There will be wildflowers still blooming in this area and there is a swimming hole near the end of the hike for those ready to take a dip. Notify Dale asap so he will know who to send details to about meeting time and place, carpooling, directions to trailhead, what to bring, etc.
On Monday, May 16, we are excited to be able to return to UT Gardens for another tour led by Director James Newburn. Georginana Vines (vinesfox@hotmail.com) graciously offered to arrange this Easy Monday outing for us and those interested should contact her at least a week ahead of time so she can let you know the particulars about parking at UT (carpooling is strongly recommended), meetup times, and any other pertinent details. We were there in Fall 2021 so going this late spring will be a completely different experience and having a professional horticulturist guide us is always a special treat.
