Hello Michelle,

“Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!”

Psalm 100:2

What an incredible weekend of service and worship together as a church body! Last week, I shared about how impressed and excited I am with the engagement in church-wide events. Well, I think we topped it this past week! Our Serve Local event ended up being a great day of service back in our old stomping grounds. We participated in the Great North Little Rock Clean Up, an event led by one of our own members, partnering with the ACTS church in the Baring Cross neighborhood. Twenty four of us gathered on Saturday morning to clean up the streets around the church. We created teams of people with representatives from both churches working together to improve the community through cleanup and encouraging words. The weather turned out great and we were truly blessed to make new friends, visit, and serve in the community. Overall, we filled 21 bags of trash in the neighborhood. The Cleanup took place all over the city though with a total of 71 people participating. We gathered together for lunch at Burns Park afterward and celebrated filling 92 bags of trash that morning!

Our mission focus now turns toward Basketball Camp which will take place the first week of June. We are excited about hosting this camp for the fourth year. This year could be our biggest camp to date! In order for us to make this year’s camp the best, we need your help! Find a few ways on the list below to help out and let us know what you are willing to do!

How to help:

  • Prayer partners — partner up with a friend and cover the camp in prayer
  • Host a meal — provide a lunch or dinner for volunteers (contact the church office for details)
  • Volunteer at camp — we need adults and youth to serve at camp to welcome campers, help with sign in/out procedures, and be available to serve as needed
  • Volunteer at the Friday cookout — we will provide a hot dog lunch for campers and families on Friday— sign up to help cook, prepare, and/or serve lunch
  • Follow Up team — we need volunteers to help follow up with families after camp. This team will reach out to parents, send thank you cards, and invite prospects to join us for worship.
