“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” — 2 Corinthians 3:17
We have been reminded by King David and challenged by the Word of God to pursue the presence of God in our lives. A clean heart and a renewed spirit will allow us to live in freedom and joy as God guides us. We can rejoice in gratitude that the work of Jesus has provided opportunity for us to find healing from the brokenness of this world! May we continue to pursue the presence of God in our lives and we walk hand in hand together in step with the Spirit of God.
As we turn the calendar to another month, we will also launch into a new series,
“Kings and Kingdoms.” Your reading plan will walk you through portions of Psalms, Proverbs, 1 and 2 Kings, and into the Prophets. Don’t forget to engage in study with your Life Groups as you experience the Word of God together. D-Groups, focus on the daily rhythms and make sure to hold each other accountable in your disciple making relationships. Our sermon series will walk us through the big picture of the books of Kings and Chronicles as we seek to understand the cultural realities of kingdom living in Old Testament Israel.
Recently, Baring Cross has been full of life and it has been exciting to watch! We have served together in our community. We have worshiped together. We have studied together in both our regular times of study as well as special focus events. Our youth ministry has taken strides under the guidance of our Youth Leadership Team. I am so thankful for all the volunteers who have poured into the lives of our students these past few months. I was greatly impressed to see around 30 youth at the event this past weekend. I look forward to hearing an update from our Search Team as they narrow their focus and prepare for the future of this ministry area.
Until then, make sure to live in the Spirit this week! Engage in your daily Bible study. Invest in relationship with those in your groups. Invite a friend to worship with us this weekend. Serve alongside us on Saturday in the Baring Cross community.
