Greetings!

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” — 1 Corinthians 15:58

My Disciple Group has recently completed a study of 1 Corinthians. This passage has taken root in my heart, serving as a reminder of the calling on us. This calling in reserved for the follower of Jesus and for His church. In the midst of the struggles, temptations, and trials of the world, we are called to remain steadfast in the faith, focused on our calling as Christ’s ambassadors to the world. We must constantly seek after opportunities to share our story of faith. People need to hear how Jesus has impacted our lives. They need to hear the message of hope. They need an opportunity to experience true love. They need to know they have an invitation to relationship with the Creator of the world. And it is our responsibility to share this good news with everyone around us.

We must remember that our labor together in not in vain. There are many activities in which we choose to invest our time — ballgames, video games, social media pages, television shows, and movies. Which of these activities are worth the investment? Which of these activities can have an eternal impact? I would challenge you to examine your schedules during our season of prayer together in May. Use our 21 Days of Devotion to give up something and dedicate a little more time to Jesus. Fasting is so much more than just abstaining from food. I would encourage you to evaluate your lifestyle and consider letting something go for this short season, so that you can invest time in your relationship with God. If you'd like to read more about fasting, click HERE.

The next few months will offer plenty of chances for you to re-engage with your church family and serve in the kingdom of God. My prayer is that you will continue to seek ways to invest in relationship, with God and others in our church.

Here are a few opportunities available to connect and serve with us right now:
· Join us for Life Group Bible study on Sunday mornings at 9:30 AM
· Attend the Travelers Baseball Game with your church family on Sunday afternoon, May 16 (reserve your tickets by calling the church office)
· Sign up to host a Sports Crusader Missionary for the week of June 21-25.
· Volunteer to serve in the Nursery/Preschool worship care rotation on Sunday mornings.

Together, we make up the body of Christ. We are striving together to accomplish the goals set before us…to GATHER….GROW…and GO. We need everyone to remain steadfast, immovable, and abounding in the work of the Lord. I find so much joy in serving beside you, and I look forward to seeing how God will continue to bless Baring Cross and further His kingdom as we unite together this Spring and Summer!
