Eau Gallie High School
Operation Christmas Child
| With the spirit of the holiday season, students from Eau Gallie High School collaboratively supported those in need through Operation Christmas Child. This Christian organization helps distribute gifts to underprivileged children in over 100 countries worldwide. | Starting on October 27th and running through November 4th, SGA and Commodore Cup members promoted the theme of giving back by creating a competition of donations and compassion throughout the entire school. Each week they collected from their first-period class items (school supplies, shoes, caps, hygiene products, toys, and clothes) to be placed in a shoebox of care to be delivered to those children with the hope they could make at least one child smile. | Culminating on Saturday, November 5th, 22 of those club members, along with sponsors and administration, joined hands to package items in 150 shoe boxes, determined to cultivate an atmosphere of charitable contribution and change. Therefore, please celebrate with Eau Gallie High School students by continuing this empathetic action of giving this holiday season, promoting love and support for all. | | | |

A letter from Freedom 7 Elementary:
They say, "It Takes a Village..." indeed, it does. Thank you to our Freedom 7 Elementary World Languages and Yoga Clubs members for this initiative and for taking action to help someone, no matter how far they might be. At Freedom 7, we strongly believe everything is possible if you put your mind to it. We achieved our goal of collecting fifteen boxes of canned goods and baby items. The support of our parents, teachers, staff, and community members helped us collect these items in no time at all.
| After many failed efforts trying to find an organization to drop off these donations to Orange River Elementary in Lee County, FL, we found a way of doing it ourselves. These items were finally delivered on November 11th. We are very proud of our students who displayed true compassion for their new friends. Listening to them as they created these thoughtful cards made us all think and reflect on the impact of a small gesture of kindness on so many people! | | | |
Florida KidCare
Your child may qualify for free health and dental insurance with Florida KidCare
|
A healthy student is ultimately a better learner – and with such a strong connection between health and academic performance, it’s important to know which healthcare options are available for your children before they head back to school.
More than half of the children in our state living without health and dental insurance may be eligible for low-cost health and dental insurance – even if one or both parents are working. Florida KidCare includes free, subsidized, and competitively priced options based on family income and household size. Most families pay nothing at all for coverage and many others pay only $15 or $20 per month. Families who do not qualify for free or subsidized coverage may purchase a competitively priced plan.
With NO application fee and year-round open enrollment, the time to apply is always now. Your family’s information is never shared outside of Florida KidCare.
Apply at floridakidcare.org or give them a call at 1-888-540-KIDS (5437).

Snap&Read reads text aloud, levels vocabulary, translates text, and delivers usage data to teachers for assessing students' reading needs individually. Students can use this tool at home if they are logged into their BPS Google account.
Please visit the Brevard Public Schools Snap&Read website for more information, or contact Shane Starrak at starrak.shane@brevardschools.org for support.
