NKU Professor Shares Her Journey in Photographs
Tuesday, Dec. 10, 6-7:30 p.m. at Baker Hunt
Rachael Banks, assistant professor of photography at Northern Kentucky University, will present research and practice methodology from the photographic series "Between Home and Here" (2014-present). With an emphasis on empathy and community, the lecture will draw parallels between personal experience in making intimate documentary work on familial relationships and perils related to place, trauma and addiction. Specifically, the presentation will focus on social depictions of the Midwest/Southern regions of Kentucky and how it impacts the subjects in Banks’ research.

Six@Six is a community lecture series sponsored by Northern Kentucky University’s Scripps Howard Center for Civic Engagement. BCM is a proud lecture host. The 2019 season is FREE!

fresh ART Artist Shares His Passion for Art
This year we welcomed Steve Nassano as one of our 24 fresh ART artists, creating art "en plain air" in Devou Park. His vibrant canvas of the Cincinnati skyline in Devou Park was well received at the gala event and helped raise funds for our youth education programs. This article, written by BCM docent and volunteer Betty Payne and published in several local newspapers, shares interesting background about Nassano that you might not have known, including his job as a correctional officer.
