All are welcome in the Cathedral to celebrate the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, and the Jubilee Opening. Cardinal Wilton Gregory is the principal celebrant and homilist. The theme for Jubilee 2025 is “Pilgrims of Hope.”

Paris & Lourdes Pilgrimage April 30 - May 8, 2025, with Spiritual Director Rev. Msgr. W. Ronald Jameson
We are excited to announce that we will be visiting Paris and Lourdes, departing from Washington-Dulles on Weds April 30 and returning on Thurs May 8. Join us on visits to The Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, Notre Dame Cathedral, Sacre Coeur Basilica and the Sainte Chapelle! We will also visit the Louvre Museum and see many of the most famous sites of the City of Light! Pilgrims will also have free time to explore Paris on their own! In Lourdes we will visit the site of Our Lady's apparitions at the Grotto of Massabielle! We will also have the opportunity to be blessed by water from the miraculous Spring, attend the daily candlelit procession and pray the Rosary, just to name a few activities.

The Mystics

Christmastide Organ Recital
St. Matthew's Cathedral Principal Organist Paul Hardy begins our Cathedral Great Organ 2025 Concert Series with a recital on our Lively-Fulcher Organ at 3:15pm on Sunday, January 12, 2025, the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord. The concert is free and open to the public. Come, bring a friend, and enjoy works by Max Reger, J. S. Bach, Gustav Holst, César Franck, and Charles-Marie Widor.

The St. Matthew’s Care for Creation Green Team will attend the Faith in Democracy Interfaith Prayer Vigil on the National Mall.
