(HR) Bob Marshall (D) CO043, Score 28 – I threw up a little in my mouth typing this line. 303-866-2936, bob.marshall.house@coleg.gov
Douglas County holds the distinction of having 2 of the lowest-rated Colorado House of Representatives out of the bottom 4!
1. Rick Taggart (R) CO055, Score 46
2. Lisa Frizell (R) CO045, Score 50
3. Michael Lynch (R), Score 53
4. Anthony Hartsook (R), Score 54 - Again, THE ONLY Doug Co Representative that openly voted for a Democrat House Chairperson when a Republican candidate was available to vote for!
There is no spin here, this is just poor representation of Douglas County's conservative principles.
I encourage all constituents in Lisa’s and Anthony’s districts to call and email them. Let them know they need to “shape up” and start representing Doug Co principles by not voting for liberal garbage bills.
Ponder this, “Do you find it strange that 3 of our Doug Co HR held a joint town hall meeting in Castle Rock”? Why did they not each hold a meeting in their own District? Not holding a town hall in your district is disrespectful to us, the voters.
Highest Rated Elected Officials (tie): 🇺🇸
-
(HR) Kenneth Degraaf (R) CO022 El Paso, Score 89
-
(HR) Stephanie Luck (R) CO060 Pueblo, Chaffee, Custer, Freemont, Teller, Score 89
Lowest Rated Colorado Elected Officials (tie):
-
(HR) Kyle Brown (D) CO012, Boulder, Broomfield, Score 14
-
(HR) Eliza Hamrick (D) CO061, Arapahoe, Douglas, Score 14
-
(HR) Naquetta Ricks (D) CO040, Arapahoe, Score 14
-
(HR) Emily Sirota (D) CO009, Arapahoe, Denver, Score 14
Looks like a race to the bottom for Arapahoe County

Our Douglas County Commissioners are still burying their heads in the sand when it comes to Drag Queen shows and our children in Doug Co. I could go on forever with these three and their weekly antics. However, I will stay focused on the topic at hand.....
Below is an email I sent on November 19, 2022, calling on our Douglas County Commissioners to put protections in place for the children of Douglas County. Since the Drag Queen show at the Fairgrounds on August 27, 2022, we have heard little from our Commissioners about putting safeguards in place. However, in Tennessee, they are making it happen and passed Senate Bill 3.
I find this strange, we have no cannabis shops in Douglas County “because we need to protect our children” I have heard this statement countless times. To my knowledge, we have no Gentleman Clubs in Douglas County, but Commissioners are okay with children under 18 years of age exposed to lewd acts as long as they are men dressed in woman's clothes.
November 19, 2022
Good Morning Everyone, we must not let the issue of protecting our children from pornographic performances in Douglas County fade (really any place in our Republic). Letting it fade into the background because our commissioners believe that is the best way to deal with a hot topic is not acceptable. Below is the draft Tennessee has put together to protect its children. I call upon Abe Laydon, Lora Thomas, and George Teal to model Douglas County’s protections in the same vain.
SENATE BILL 3 By Johnson SB0003 000187 - 1 - AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 7, Chapter 51, Part 14, relative to adult-oriented performances. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF TENNESSEE: SECTION 1. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 7-51-1401, is amended by adding the following language as a new subdivision: "Adult cabaret performance" means a performance in a location other than an adult cabaret that features topless dancers, go-go dancers, exotic dancers, strippers, male or female impersonators who provide entertainment that appeals to a prurient interest, or similar entertainers, regardless of whether or not performed for consideration; SECTION 2. Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 7-51-1407, is amended by adding the following language as a new subsection: (c) (1) It is an offense for a person to engage in an adult cabaret performance: (A) On public property; or (B) In a location where the adult cabaret performance could be viewed by a person who is not an adult. (2) Notwithstanding § 7-51-1406, this subsection (c) expressly: (A) Preempts an ordinance, regulation, restriction, or license that was lawfully adopted or issued by a political subdivision prior to the effective date of this act that is in conflict with this subsection (c); and - 2 - 000187 (B) Prevents or preempts a political subdivision from enacting and enforcing in the future other ordinances, regulations, restrictions, or licenses that are in conflict with this subsection (c). (3) A first offense for a violation of subdivision (c)(1) is a Class A misdemeanor, and a second or subsequent such offense is a Class E felony. SECTION 3. This act takes effect July 1, 2023, the public welfare requiring it, and applies to prohibited conduct occurring on or after that date.
So how do we accomplish this? Each of you knows at least 10 people that will support this effort, and each of them knows at least 10 people. Get people on board with helping in this effort!!!
Tell them just what you think, speak from the heart. Ask them to protect the children of Douglas County, like in Tennessee.
George Teal is on board with crafting protections for children, modeling the Tennessee Senate Bill 3. But he needs one more vote.
Commissioners would like this whole topic to go away. I am willing to carry the banner, but I am just one person I need all of you to help.
CALL TO ACTION!
I want to flood the Commissioner's offices with 3000 calls and emails (1000 for each). The only way we will get action is to make ourselves heard!!!

| A newcomer to the Honey Badger Report is Erin Kane with this train wreck of a reply: | | |
Last I checked, she worked for the Board, and the Board works for us, the voters. Unless I missed something….
Kudos to Steve Peck, our new Douglas County GOP Chair, for sending his letter to Mike Peterson on the request for allowing trained teachers to carry firearms in schools.
If the following quote is correct, it is contradictory concerning comments Mike Peterson made at a Parker Conservatives meeting while campaigning.
“Board President Mike Peterson said a staff member with a concealed carry permit would not rise to the standard of training the district has for school resource officers, so he would not support them being armed in schools.”
At a Parker Conservatives meeting while running for the school board, Mike made comments to the group that he would endorse trained teachers carrying firearms and adding more SRO’s to Douglas County schools. He would just need to find a way to pay for those additional SRO’s. After making these statements, he received loud applause from the packed crowd.
If you believe we need trained armed staff in our schools and more SRO’s then you need to call!

The Town of Parker has yet another developer's request to amend the Parker 2035 Master Plan for the 57-acre property located west of Parker Road and south of the FlatAcres MarketCenter, along the Cherry Creek corridor with the large KOA tower. The details:
The property is currently identified within the General Land Use Plan of the Parker 2035 Master Plan as Medium Density Residential allowing for single-family detached residential with a maximum density of 3.5 units per acre. The proposed change is to amend the Parker 2035 Master Plan Land Use designation on this property from the existing Medium Density Residential Character Area to Central Commercial Character Area. The change will align the Master Plan Land Use designation with the property located to the north, as well as allow the future development of commercial and higher density residential on the property.
The Pro-Growth Parker Town Council and Planning Commission must be frothing at the mouth to get this past. Notice how they place the "higher density residential" at the very end...
Let all of them hear your thoughts!

So, a question you might have is, “why Honey Badger”?
Honey Badgers have been described in the Guinness Book of Records as the "most fearless animal in the world" and can even fight off much larger predators like lions and hyenas if challenged.
And we know the political landscape is filled with hyenas, thus, we need the Honey Badger.
If you have a Parker or Douglas County topic that needs attention brought to it, please submit it to: Honey Badger Report, mark.hampton@comcast.net. I will review it and see about adding it to the monthly publication.
