As the calendar pages turn towards another election cycle, we start to focus on Douglas County's politics and the broader national elections. Key election dates are rapidly approaching, and I urge our members to engage at any level possible this year. The Douglas County Republican Party (DCGOP) is actively seeking volunteers to assist with Caucus and Assembly responsibilities. It's an enjoyable and fulfilling way to meet and collaborate with like-minded conservatives. If you're looking to get more involved with local and state politics, attend the caucus and throw your hat in the ring for a PCP position or run to be a delegate at the assembly. Douglas County Commissioner District 3 Race

District 3 – Incumbent, Lora Thomas (R), term-limited

Kevin Van Winkle (R)

John Carson presents himself as a seasoned conservative Republican with extensive experience in both executive roles and public service. His career includes significant contributions as a precinct committeeman, a volunteer for various Republican candidates, an elected member of the Douglas County School Board, and a member of the University of Colorado Board of Regents. Carson emphasizes his commitment to serving with humility, listening carefully, and responding thoughtfully to issues. He identifies as an independent thinker within the Republican Party, grounded in conservative values. John will be going through the Assembly process. To avoid the scenario outlined below, Carson should drop out and support Kevin Van Winkle.

Priscilla Rahn is not expected to participate in the Douglas County Assembly process, instead choosing to petition directly onto the ballot, a route increasingly favored by weak Republican candidates. This approach raises several concerns, notably her potential request for DCGOP support once she secures a spot on the Primary ballot and her possible grievances if such support is not forthcoming, citing misinterpretations of the DCGOP bylaws. Republicans are advised not to back candidates who bypass the Assembly process, emphasizing the importance of adhering to established procedures. Rahn's ballot strategy could be effective if all candidates, Rahn, Carson, and Van Winkle, secure positions on the Primary ballot and end up dividing the vote. In such a scenario, Rahn could emerge as the default Republican choice for the General Election ballot (we have seen this before in 2020). This situation might leave voters with the dilemma of choosing a weak Republican candidate or resorting to a no-confidence vote (not voting), which could lead to the election of a Democrat to the County Commissioner's office.

Kevin Van Winkle is a fervent advocate for conservative values with a proven track record. A particular emphasis on the sanctity of life, Second Amendment rights, educational freedom, school safety, and reducing government overreach. He views life as a divine gift beginning at conception and has sponsored measures to protect unborn babies, including leading a historic debate in the Colorado State House in defense of the Right to Life. He also contributed to the effort to overturn Roe v. Wade by submitting an Amicus Brief to the U.S. Supreme Court in the Dobbs v. Jackson case. His legislative efforts include increasing tax benefits for small businesses, enhancing school safety funding, and defending workers' vaccination choices. Given Kevin’s legislation work reflects a commitment to conservative principles, local governance, and the well-being of Douglas County residents, he is the natural pick to fill this seat. Current Liberty Score Card 80.

Douglas County Commissioner District 2:

District 2 – Incumbent – George Teal (R)

George Teal (R)

George Teal is best described as an enigmatic figure within Douglas County, eliciting strong feelings from the community with little middle ground, residents either fervently support him or vehemently oppose him. Much of the polarization can be attributed to his conflicts with Commissioner Lora Thomas on various matters, leading some to perceive him and his associate Abe as bullies. Despite taking a stand against Castle Rock Pride, the event proceeded as planned. Teal is known for his conservative stance, yet his commitment to limiting government seems inconsistent, particularly with his initiatives to establish a Water Commission and an advisory committee to it. Notably, many political appointees to these bodies appear to be drawn from Teal's circle of donors, a fact that raises concerns about propriety, which Teal seems to disregard. Currently, Teal faces no challengers for his position on the Republican side. If a challenger comes forward, they will most likely be nominated from the floor at the Douglas County Assembly.

Douglas County District Attorney Race for the New 23rd District:

Dagny Van Der Jagt (R)

George Brauchler (R)

Dagny Van Der Jagt is leveraging her nearly two decades of legal experience, including roles as Deputy District Attorney, Civil Litigator, and Criminal Defense Attorney. As a small law firm owner in Castle Rock, Colorado, she emphasizes her budget management skills, operational effectiveness, and accountability to clients. Van Der Jagt, who also balances her career with being a homeschooling mother, prioritizes her religious beliefs and constitutional principles over political affiliations, safeguarding freedom and property. Her campaign is rooted in a strong defense of constitutional rights, particularly the Second Amendment, and is driven by a commitment to challenge unconstitutional laws and practices. She is determined to address the rising crime rates by focusing on violent crimes and offenses against children, signaling a tough stance on crime and a readiness to pursue justice.

George Brauchler, with a background rooted in Colorado's legal, radio, and military sectors, has garnered attention for some. Despite his extensive experience, Brauchler's stance on his support for a Red Flag law in Colorado has sparked controversy among Second Amendment advocates. This support for the Red Flag law (he was an original author of the law in 2018) marks a departure from traditional Second Amendment interpretations. Critics argue that such laws infringe on constitutional rights, and Brauchler's backing of this legislation has led to debates about the balance between public safety and individual liberties. While Brauchler's commitment to public service is evident through his military service, his endorsement of the Red Flag law has raised questions about his adherence to conservative principles regarding gun rights. This aspect of his record is crucial for voters in the 23rd Judicial District to consider. At the most recent DCGOP meeting, Brauchler was angrily run off the stage by the majority of the District Captains for not committing to the Assembly process. It was said that they heard Brauchler comment, I don't need these people to win my race". Time will tell.

With this, I have endorsed Dagna Van Der Jagt for DA in JD 23.

House District 39

Brandi Bradley – Incumbent (R)

Brandi Bradley is a committed candidate for Colorado's House District 39. Brandi is driven by the adverse effects of state and local governance on Douglas County. As a fiscally responsible, pro-life Christian conservative, she upholds constitutional values, emphasizing life, liberty, and happiness for all. Bradley's campaign pillars are transparency, integrity, and authentic representation, ensuring decisions are constitutionally based and that Douglas County's interests are voiced at the state level. She focuses on economic growth and fiscal responsibility, aiming to alleviate the tax burden on Coloradans, foster job creation, and maintain a business-friendly environment while upholding the Taxpayer's Bill of Rights. A strong proponent of individual and parental rights, Bradley supports school choice and medical freedom, opposing overreaching mandates. She staunchly defends Second Amendment rights, committed to protecting these fundamental liberties in the legislature. Bradley's legislative work includes efforts to establish fundamental parental rights, enhance educational opportunities through the Colorado Re-engaged Initiative, safeguard agricultural lands from foreign ownership, and uphold women's rights in athletics. Her involvement in committees like Appropriations and Public & Behavioral Health reflects her dedication to serving all of District 39's needs. Current Liberty Score Card 83.

Ephram Glass relocated to Colorado from New York City in 2014. His professional background as an engineer and his advocacy for certain environmental conservation can be seen as Progressive platforms. His candidacy for the Colorado State House of Representatives HD 39 reveals positions that prompt scrutiny of the conservative credentials that he claims. His stance on renewable energy mandates diverges from traditional conservative views on free-market solutions and minimal government intervention. Glass proposes reallocating funds to subsidize solar panel and battery installations, a move that could be seen as government overreach and market manipulation, raising questions about his adherence to conservative economic principles.

Brandi Bradley is fighting every day and has shown us her constitutional values,so I have endorsed Brandi Bradley for HD 39.

House District 43

Bob Marshall - Incumbent (D)

Lora Thomas (R)

Matt Burcham (R)

Bob Marshall, a Colorado native who served in the military service and law, transitioned the Marine Corps to a legal practice in Colorado. Initially a Republican, Marshall's political stance shifted significantly post-2016, leading him to join the Democratic Party in 2021, driven by disagreements with the GOP's direction. His progressive advocacy extends to supporting Red Flag Laws and defending LGBTQ rights. Marshall's political alignment and specific policy stances diverge from the preferences of conservatives in Douglas County who value traditional conservative principles. Marshall’s liberty Score of 44 as of 2/17/2024, we can do better in Douglas County. Current Liberty Score Card 35.

Lora Thomas is a third-generation Coloradoan. Serving in the Colorado State Patrol, Douglas County Coroner and Commissioner, emphasizing fiscal responsibility and government efficiency. Committed to constitutional principles and influenced by her Christian faith, Lora is a staunch advocate for individual rights, including gun ownership. Her notable achievements include roles as the first female captain and major in the Colorado State Patrol and reducing the coroner's office budget by 33% while enhancing its efficiency. She also played pivotal roles in establishing a county-specific health department, enhancing school safety with a $10M investment, and initiating a new Judicial District for improved public safety and justice services. Despite Lora's accomplishments, her tenure is not without concerns, particularly regarding the discord among the commissioners, which has become a talking point among constituents. This issue needs addressing to strengthen her campaign.

Matt Burcham is running with a focus on action rather than status, aiming to improve Colorado for future generations. He's committed to aligning the state with conservative values, contrasting the current far-left representation of Bob Marshall. Burcham emphasizes unity among Republicans, focusing on addressing growth, education, crime, taxation, homelessness, and employment through conservative principles. Supporter of the Taxpayer Bill of Rights (TABOR), Burcham opposes hidden tax increases under the guise of "fees" and is dedicated to preserving taxpayer refunds and fighting against property tax hikes. Burcham stands against what he views as overreach by liberal policies infringing on individual freedoms. He also stands as a staunch defender of the Second Amendment, opposing any restrictions on gun ownership for law-abiding citizens.

For HD 43 in 2024, it's imperative to elect a Republican candidate over Bob Marshall, and while Lora is a strong contender, there was a preference for John Carson to pursue this seat and not the Commissioners seat, oh well.

House District 44

Max Brooks, running for Douglas County House District 45, emphasizes a commitment to conservative principles, fiscal responsibility, and community service. As a Director on the Castlewood Ranch Metropolitan District Board, Brooks has actively worked to reduce mill levies, demonstrating a hands-on approach to leadership and fiscal prudence. Brooks's campaign is rooted in family values and a vision for a safe, free, and prosperous community for current and future generations. Campaign pillars include public safety, education, and economic freedom. Brooks pledges to support law enforcement, champion parental rights in education, and advocate for small government, lower taxes, and the defense of TABOR. A staunch defender of the Second Amendment, Brooks is committed to preserving the right to keep and bear arms. When possible, in a public forum, the question needs to be asked if he supports our Douglas County Fairground used for the Pride Festival and Drag Queen shows.

Bill Jack, a respected member of the Castle Rock community for over two decades, embodies the ideals of education, faith, and civic responsibility. As an educator, Bill's dedication to nurturing a generation that understands the intertwining of governance, law, and Christian principles is unparalleled. His founding role in Worldview Academy and involvement with TeenPact showcase his commitment to fostering leadership grounded in faith. Bill's vision for Castle Rock and Colorado is rooted in the preservation of fundamental liberties and the promotion of moral and ethical values. His stance on critical issues like the Second Amendment, the Taxpayer Bill of Rights (TABOR), and the integrity of the electoral process demonstrate his commitment to protecting citizens' rights and ensuring governmental transparency and accountability.

I wholeheartedly support Bill Jack's candidacy, recognizing his unwavering dedication to his community and his profound respect for foundational American values.

Next up are the CD4 candidates. The narrative is derived from attending 2 different forums (Elbert and DCGOP) and candidate speakers at Parker Conservatives and other venues. These are in alphabetical order of last name.

Lauren Boebert's performance was notably strong, with a perfect 3 out of 3 on the American First questions. Boebert faced numerous challenges, particularly from Chris Phelen (more on that later), yet remained composed and responsive, steering clear of DC speak. Her experience stands out distinctly in the field, given her tenure in Washington, D.C., which sets her apart from those with no experience or solely within the Colorado State House. Boebert emphasized that she not only represented CD3 but the broader conservative values foundational to Colorado and the country while in D.C. Her Action Point Score of 98 underscores her effectiveness and distinguishes her significantly from many other D.C. representatives. Now residing in Weld County with her family, Boebert emerges as a formidable candidate for CD4. The criticisms labeling her a carpetbagger seem less likely to resonate, given her relocation and ongoing engagement in the community. She has work to do in Douglas County, getting out of the Republican echo chamber and meeting with the people of Douglas County to carry the State Assembly. Turning Point Action Score 94.8.

Debra Flora stands out as a leading candidate in CD4, particularly within her home crowd of Douglas County, where she is very comfortable. However, her response to the question about the legitimacy of the 2020 Presidential election, which eventually concluded with a 'no,' elicited deep groans from some audience members, potentially alienating a segment of the staunch "America First" supporters. Flora's campaign strongly emphasizes border security, child protection, American energy independence, and the preservation of liberties. Flora's strong footing in Douglas County positions her as a frontrunner for the State Assembly. Yet, with the election on the distant horizon of November 5th, the dynamics could shift significantly. This period could be a honeymoon period for Flora, ahead of the intensified competition among candidates vying for delegate support at the State Assembly. The journey ahead promises challenges, as being in the forefront often makes one a target for competitors aiming to shift the balance.

Ted Harvey had a perfect 3 out of 3 on the American First questions. Harvey is a prominent conservative figure in Colorado with an outstanding record across various issues focusing on the “Right to Life” and Election Reform. His strong pro-life stance culminated in the major Parental Notification Act. Harvey's dedication to the 2nd Amendment earned him the esteemed .50 Cal Freedom Award, highlighting his commitment to gun rights. A staunch advocate for election integrity, Harvey has pushed for measures like photo ID requirements to secure elections. His stance against illegal immigration, supported by legislation to dismantle sanctuary cities and restrict driver's licenses for illegal aliens, garnered an endorsement from Congressman Tom Tancredo. In national security, Harvey, drawing from his experience in President Reagan's administration, prioritizes strong defense policies and border security. His positions on international affairs reflect a focus on American interests and unwavering support for Israel's right to self-defense. During the DCGOP forum, Harvey received the loudest applause of the evening for his response, “Yes, he would vote for a National Abortion Ban?”.

Richard Holtorf is a Colorado legislator for HD 63, with a career that includes a 29-year tenure in the U.S. Military and life as a third-generation cattle rancher at "Buffalo Springs Ranch". His leadership has been evident throughout his roles, including his time representing House District 63 and as a Washington County Farm Bureau Board Member for over two decades. His deep understanding of rural life is well-acknowledged. However, his response to the 2020 election integrity question, a denial that the election was stolen, has stirred controversy and could have implications for his vote at the State Assembly. Holtorf's commanding presence has cultivated a mixed reception among Douglas County voters, some appreciate his assertive approach, while others prefer a leader who speaks softly and carries a big stick. Current Liberty Score Card 58.

Trent Leisy is one of 3 candidates who had a perfect 3 out of 3 score on the American First questions. Trent Leisy brings a diverse background as a small business owner, Navy veteran, and staunch advocate for Donald J Trump’s America First policies. Leisy, who has roots in Weld County dating back to 1888, sees himself as a defender of the state's conservative values in the face of progressive Democrats. Leisy's commitment to public service continued with his work in the Weld County Republican Party and as an advocate for agriculture, leading to the establishment of his own company, Northern Colorado Seeds LLC. Leisy's platform includes a firm stance on immigration, advocating for the completion of Trump's border wall, and opposing government overreach. His dedication to the founding principles of the Constitution and his belief in divine guidance underscore his campaign to serve as a voice for all constituents in Congressional District 4.

Mike Lynch, WAS serving as the Minority Leader in the Colorado House of Representatives until it was uncovered that he had a DUI and attempted to hide it from the people. Lynch was rebuked by his caucus and finally stepped down. There is an old saying, “screw up, move up, cover up” and that’s where we find Lynch as a candidate for Congressional District 4. He claims he is a dedicated advocate of the foundational American values of liberty and individual responsibility. So much so that, along with Anthony Hartsook, Lynch voted for the Democrat House Chair when a Republican was available for his vote. While I am sure Mike is a good person, he is not what we want representing us in Washington (really anywhere). He is co-sponsoring several Dem House Bills that are opposed by Liberty Score Card: HB1011, HB1032, HB1035, HB1139, and HB1155. Mike do yourself and everyone involved in this campaign a favor and just drop out, you have no path to victory. Current Liberty Score Card 48.

Chris Phelen is this year's candidate, "Snake in the Grass". Phelen kicked off his political career in DC, currently working for the outgoing Doug Lamborn (CD5). During the recent Douglas County forum, Phelen appeared to have a singular mission, not to showcase his policies or his vision for the future but to ensure Lauren Boebert's name was dragged through the mud with more gusto than a monster truck at a DC county fair. Because, why waste time convincing the electorate when you can play in the dirt? Now, I'm not saying Phelen is the Trojan horse sent by the shadowy overlords of the D.C. Republican Establishment to sabotage Boebert’s campaign, but if the shoe fits, right? These swamp creatures don't play nice. They play to win, and if winning means planting their very own political pinata at the bottom of the polls, then so be it. And let's talk about Phelen's sterling record on the American First questions, shall we? If missing the mark was an Olympic sport, Phelen would be the gold medalist with his perfect strikeout 1-2-3, your out!

Jerry Sonnenberg is a Colorado native with his roots in agriculture and politics. He started as a rancher in Sterling, and served in the Colorado Legislature. He notably championed agricultural and fiscal issues during his tenure. Recognized for his leadership, including his time as President Pro Tempore of the Senate, he has received multiple awards for his advocacy and policy work. Critical of the Biden administration's economic policies, Sonnenberg attributes current inflation and economic challenges to federal mismanagement. He supports fiscal restraint, lower taxes, and minimal government interference, particularly in agriculture and small businesses. Committed to the Second Amendment, Sonnenberg has consistently opposed gun control legislation. I really want to like Jerry, he seems like a great person. You know the guy you want to spend the day in a boat fishing, drinking beer, and telling jokes. However, he would not clearly answer the "Was the 2020 Election Stolen?", basically no answer. He also made a big point about reaching across the aisle to the opposition. This is not what we need right now, we need warriors, a person looking to crush the opposition, not work with for them.

Peter Yu is a second-generation immigrant whose family arrived in America in 1969. Despite language barriers and financial struggles, the Yu family thrived, with five of seven children achieving college degrees and all reaching success, embodying the American dream. Peter himself has a history of executive leadership in major corporations like HSBC Bank and Wyndham Worldwide. His campaign is marked by a commitment to addressing societal challenges with innovative solutions and challenging the status quo for positive change. Peter is only one of two (the other being Chris Phelen) to miss all 3 American Frist questions. To say Peter Yu is a soft Republican would be an understatement. He could be running as a far-right Dem with the way he approaches the issues, continually seeking the middle. Rest assured, this strategy just continues to give away our conservative values on deals that mean nothing in the end. It seems to me that he has spent too much time in Boulder.

A Closing Thoughts on Candidates

In the spirit of transparency and unwavering conviction, it's time for a candid conversation about the political landscape within Douglas County. As we traverse the complexities of the 2024 election season, the integrity of the Assembly process stands as a cornerstone of our democratic values. It's a process that demands respect, commitment, and participation from candidates aspiring for our votes. Yet, it's disheartening to observe a growing trend among some candidates (the weakest) who choose to bypass this foundational step via an alternative route, direct petitioning onto the primary ballots (this statement does not include the hybrid method).

Let me be unequivocally clear, this approach not only undermines the assembly process but also, and more importantly, demonstrates a flagrant disregard for the values and expectations we uphold in our community. It's a thumbing of the nose at the very principles that ensure our political system remains grounded in participation, deliberation, and collective decision-making. So you think you and your advisors know better, well think again!

To those candidates who bypass the assembly process entirely and then have audaciously sought our support in the general election, hear this: you cannot disregard the foundational steps of our democratic process and then expect to rally under the banner of unity when it's convenient for your campaign. Such actions betray a lack of respect for the constituents you wish to serve and for the democratic principles you aim to uphold.

Therefore, I urge every citizen in Douglas County and the State of Colorado to take a firm stand. We must unite only behind candidates who honor and respect the assembly process. Our support, our efforts, and our resources should be exclusively reserved for those who demonstrate a commitment to the values and procedures that define our political engagement. Let's set a precedent that values integrity above all, holding firm to the belief that the path to elected leadership is paved through respect for our democratic processes.

In the 2024 election season and beyond, let's champion the cause of genuine leadership that respects the foundational steps of our democratic engagement. Let us not lend our support to those who choose to sidestep the assembly process. Our unity, our strength, and our commitment lie with candidates who recognize the importance of this process and engage with it fully, demonstrating their respect for the constituents they aim to serve.

Together, we can make a stand for integrity, respect, and democratic values in politics. Let's support the process, support the principles, and, most importantly, support the candidates who uphold these values.

It’s time for our regular rendezvous with reality, a delightful journey through the Liberty Scorecard, a beacon of truth in the political fog that's thicker than pea soup. Let’s cast our discerning gaze upon the luminaries representing Douglas County. First, a thunderous applause for Brandi Bradley, soaring high with a stellar 83. Well done, Representative Bradley!

Now, onto the less stellar performers. Lisa Frizell, whose score is about as robust as a house of cards in a tornado, a dismal 60. She’s got her eyes on Jim Smallwood's senate seat, and if she’s our conservative champion for Senate CO002, we might as well be cheering for the mascot at the Rockies game.

But let's talk about Anthony Hartsook, shall we, oh yes we shall…the man who could turn a winning lottery ticket into a piece of toilet paper. His liberty score is an embarrassing 59 is less like witnessing a fall from grace and more like a nosedive from the upper atmosphere without a parachute. We have to admire the dedication it takes to achieve such scores as a Republican, it's like he's chasing a record for the most spectacular failure.

For some perspective, let’s throw in Bob Marshall, our local Democrat in HD43, who's practically the valedictorian of his party with a 35. This raises a rather uncomfortable question, how can Hartsook's voting record be nearly indistinguishable from Marshall's on bills (see chart below) that the Liberty Score Card opposes? It’s like discovering your conservative hero is actually a wolf in elephant’s clothing, voting lockstep with the agenda of the Dems.

It’s high time we scoured Douglas County for a true conservative to primary Hartsook in HD 44. We need a titan of traditional values, not someone who’s content to play the part of a statue, only making noise when the wind of public opinion blows hard enough.

Lisa Frizell is already being shown the door, with Bill Jack stepping up to bat. This is an upgrade of such magnitude it's like trading a flip phone for the latest smartphone. But with Frizell now aiming for the Senate, we must intervene before she turns that seat into a monument to mediocrity.

To those among you with the courage of your convictions burning like a bonfire, let’s stoke those flames. I’m ready to champion your cause, to nominate you, to support you in wresting control from those who only serve as conservatives by convenience.

Let's not forget, the ballot box is a mirror reflecting our choices, for better or for worse. We don’t just get what we elect, sometimes, it seems we elect what we deserve. Let’s prove that wrong.

Anthony Hartsook Blows a Head Gasket!

Ah, let's dive into the theatrics of Anthony Harsook’s latest performance (the email below), shall we? In a display of timekeeping that rivals his political acumen, meaning, remarkably poor, Anthony seems to believe I’ve been shadowing his every move with the tenacity of a Honey Badger... for a year and a half. Cue dramatic gasp. Now, before we all get lost in this tragedy of miscounted days, let's set the record straight, shall we? My inaugural commentary on his, let’s say, "unique" voting preferences graced the world on January 9, 2023. Fast forward through the space-time continuum with me, folks, it's been 1 year and 25 days (from 1/9/2023 to 2/3/2024). Not the sprawling epic of time, Anthony's melodramatic soliloquy year and a half he would have you believe.

Really, Anthony, this isn’t rocket science, even if counting beyond ten requires you to venture into the treacherous territory of removing your clown shoes to use your toes. But let's not be too harsh, after all, distinguishing Democrats from Republicans could indeed be as challenging for Anthony as telling time, apparently. So, here's a thought, perhaps if we swap out those oversized shoes for a calendar, we might just get on the same page. Or, at the very least, Anthony could give us a performance that's less Comedy Central and a tad more C-SPAN.

Happy One Year Anniversary, Anthony. I'm just getting started, and I can't wait to drop my fliers in your neighborhood about your election!

The demand by Mark Hampton for an apology and his drafting of an apology letter is pathetic. He was not there, and yet he claims to know everything. I understand strategy and the long game at the Capitol. If Mark Hampton wishes to run his organization in a Stalinist mode and kick out media and only allow people in that think like him and speak like him then that is his prerogative. His obsession with writing negative comments every month and his memes about me sitting next to democrats when I am supporting Israel is antisemitic and hateful. That is exactly what dictators and hypocrites do. I will not be signing his apology letter.

Regarding Meredith Rudolph, and her response that she was not speaking as a member of the executive committee on House District 44 when she attacks me is pure hypocrisy. That is exactly what the progressive radicals do up at the Capitol. The hypocrisy of holding up her district captain badge and attacking me, and then saying oh, I wasn’t saying anything as the executive officer on the HD44 committee is pure hypocrisy. If she doesn’t want to support me, that’s entirely her choice. Maybe she should just consider resigning if she hates me that much. She sure isn’t helping republicans win any seats.

The most disturbing is from Jeff Toborg. Here was someone that we used to be very close friends with and spent several Christmas together. We shared many things together in our family friendships. However, the moment my opponent entered the primary, Jeff went completely silent with us and then directly and indirectly supported my opponent. His kids worked on my opponents’ campaign and as recently as December 2023 he continued to attack me with false narratives.

His statement that I should just let everything go is both absurd and insulting. He does not get to attack me for a year and a half and continue to put out falsehoods and support people who put out lies about me and expect me to acquiesce to his demands. We are active members in the chamber of commerce, we support the schools around here and have donated money for various events at the schools and in the community.

I recommend that people get on board to help us fight the progressive radical agenda at the Capitol. I will continue to support public safety, parental rights, small businesses, defend the Second Amendment, and fight for lower taxes.

Is it a Migration or just plain old Illegal Aliens?

Have you ever watched a toddler gleefully banging pots and pans together? It's loud, it's chaotic, and it's a mess. Now imagine that toddler is running the country. Welcome to the Biden administration's approach to immigration, among other things.

Now, I'm not suggesting that the President is in diapers (well, maybe I am), though given his state of being, it's a compelling metaphor, but I am saying that the policies we're witnessing are as functional as a glass hammer.

We have witnessed illegals used as a battering ram against national sovereignty. Russia, with all the subtlety of a UFC fighter, is using it to destabilize nations. Meanwhile, the Biden administration seems to think the best response is to hold the door open and offer a mint on the pillow. Let’s not forget that the taxpayers paid for that room with the pillow and mint.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott is calling it an "invasion," and before you roll your eyes, consider this, when former top FBI executives are sounding the alarm, it's not just a policy disagreement, it's a red flag the size of Texas itself. We're not talking about a few individuals slipping through the cracks, we're talking about a gaping hole in the fence. Well, really, there is no fence, wall, or anything thanks to Nancy Pelosi and Chucky Schumer and the gang of democrats.

And while Europe tightens its borders as if they finally got the memo, the Biden administration is playing a dangerous game of 'Simon Says' with our national security, except Simon seems to have lost his marbles. (FYI, Simon is Biden; keep up!)

Cutting through Texas' razor wire to let migrants in? Sure, let's just dismantle our own defenses. Why not roll out the red carpet for good measure? It's as if the Border Patrol has been turned into a taxpayer-funded Uber service for anyone who can make it to the border. And making it to the board is not all that hard, with NGOs being funded by the United Nations helping them along.

Of course, the Biden administration claims immigration is their exclusive playground. But when the swings are broken, and the slides are on fire, maybe it's time for the states to tell the federal babysitters to go home.

Abbott's laying more wire, and he's got the Constitution in his toolbox. Sure, in 1787 our founders had a quaint notion of invasion, think Redcoats and bayonets, but today's invaders don't always carry rifles, some carry the blueprints to our downfall along with drugs that kills tens of thousands of our citizens. They traffic humans, last count there are no less than 10,000 children missing. The Biden administrations turns a blind eye, why? Who is being paid off, the BIG guy? Military-age men from Muslim countries and China on U.S. soil? If that doesn't smell like bacon burning in the frying pan, I don't know what does.

But here's the kicker, when 26 state attorney generals, none of them bleeding-heart liberals, stand with Abbott, it's not just a political stunt. It's a 911 call for common sense in a sea of bureaucratic buffoonery. The Supreme Court may still be out to lunch on this, but at least someone's got the guts to lay the wire and stand watch.

So, why? Why is the Biden administration treating our borders like a leaky faucet they can't be bothered to fix? Why does it seem like they're more interested in the welfare of anyone but the citizens they vowed to protect? Could it be that the call of progressivism has them so spellbound that they've forgotten their duty? Or is it that they're so caught up in their own self-interest and making a buck at the expense of the American citizen, that they've lost sight of the nation's? (I’m going with that answer).

Think about it. The next time you hear a pot banging or see a wire cut, remember that this isn't just about politics. It's about the preservation of a country that we love, the defense of a home that's under threat, and the future that we are, border by border, policy by policy, entrusting to toddlers with glass hammers.

Side Note on Colorado:

In Denver, the math is as simple as it is staggering: over the past year, 40,000 new arrivals with Biden’s welcome mat that's threadbare and overworked. Denver, a sanctuary city, swelling by 5%, is now a reluctant host to 4,000 souls in shelters, while the Democrat progressive’s officials' calculators are smoking with the tally, $100 million needed, and that's just for starters.

Denver Health is waving a white flag IOU of $10 million in unpaid medical bills, a souvenir from our guests. And as for the schools, 3,000 new students are a testament to our overflowing classrooms.

Tent cities sprout like mushrooms after a storm in the mountains, with local businesses suffocating under the sudden shade. The decline in downtown commerce isn't gradual, it's a freefall, thanks to the city's new open-air bazaar of tents and drugs (and don’t forget the poop, just like San Francisco).
