It’s Crunch Time:

The No-Nonsense Guide to Navigating the Primaries

Alright folks, grab your mailboxes by the flag, it’s time to wrestle with those incoming primary ballots. This isn’t just about choosing candidates, it’s about deciding how we play the game in a system that feels like it’s stacked against us from the get-go.

1. How to Vote: Dodging the Pitfalls

Let’s break down the tactical mess we’re staring down:

  • Voting Early: Sure, it’s convenient, drop in one of the election boxes and poof, you are done. When you toss your vote in early, candidates can tick you off their worry list as Colorado ballots are all tracked. It’s perfect for rallying those wishy-washy voters to finally pick a lane.

  • Election Day, June 25th: This is for the die-hards, the ones who don’t trust any hands but their own. You march down there and make sure your ballot clunks into that box. But let’s be honest. Have you seen what’s been reported in the last few election cycles? Ballots disappear faster than a cold beer at a barbecue, even at voting centers. However, this is still the most secure way to vote.

  • Mailing Your Ballot: Yeah, that’s if you trust your vote not to take a detour to the nearest dumpster. Risky doesn’t even start to cover it. JUST DON’T DO IT! Pick one of the other two ways above.

Choose how you vote, like you choose your battles, strategically and with a healthy dose of skepticism.

2. Who to Vote For: Should Reflect Your Conservative Values and Principles

Choosing candidates is more than a preference, it’s a statement of your principles. Here’s the gritty truth, I spend more time ranting about who I’m against than who I’m rooting for. If you’re MAGA, like me, the choices are pretty clear-cut. But what about you?

Candidates Who Skipped Assembly: They are all about the pay-to-play. Bypassing the Caucus and Assembly grind for a shortcut to your vote. These candidates are like “All Meat Hotdogs”; you kind of know it’s meat, just not what kind. Should you really eat it? Or vote for it?

Candidates Who Wouldn’t Know Truth If It Bit Them: This one’s a kicker. If you can stomach voting for a liar, what’s next? Telling your kids it’s fine to cheat on tests? Your vote is your word so make it count. “Truth” is one area that should never have a change of PLANS.

Before you mark that ballot, think hard. Are you voting for someone who reflects the grit and backbone you expect from yourself? Let’s not sugarcoat voting in Douglas County. We need all the registered Republican voters out in the Primary, no ifs, ands, or buts!

3. The General Election

Let’s not kid ourselves, the primary is just the warm-up. November is when the real fight happens. Will you back every 'R' on the ticket, or will you make your silence roar by abstaining? What we decide now in the Primary lays the groundwork.

So gear up. The primaries are where we set the tone, weed out the posers and the weak, and start the march toward November. Remember, second place is just the first loser. Let’s aim for a clean sweep voting in all Assembly Candidates in the Douglas County Primary.

Stay tough, vote-wise, and let’s make sure the Uniparty, The Republican Establishment, and RINOs hear us true grassroot conservatives loud and clear. Our vote isn’t just a tick on a ballot, it’s a declaration of war against mediocrity and deceit. Let’s get this right.

"I want Christians to consider who they vote for. We look a lot at the presidential elections. And that's where so much of our focus is, especially from the media, but some of the most important elections are the local elections - the mayors, city council members, county commissioners, school boards.

How important school boards are - and we need to get Christian men and women running for office.

We need Christian men and women not only running for office but voting and getting behind other

Christians that are running for office."

Stand Up and Do Not Waver

In the grand history of our Republic, we find ourselves locked in a clash that's nothing short of epic. It's not just the Unipary, Establishment Republicans, and RINOs who stand against the true grassroots conservatives. We must also stand against our foe, which is a shadow cabal of globalist leftists who've been gnawing at our nation's constitutional values like maggots feed on flesh.

These so-called elites are the architects of division, slicing through the nation’s fabric with their corrosive ideology. They've taken a scalpel to every institution that's held us together, splicing us into categories, and turning us against one another. They're the ones turning our schools into indoctrination camps, where American history is a list of crimes, and capitalism is the villain in every story. And don’t get me started concerning their rhetoric if you happen to have been born white.

They've promised a future where we'll all be blissfully unencumbered by possessions or responsibility, “and we will love it.” But don't be fooled. This is a future where we're nothing but cogs in their machine, where the concept of 'owning nothing and being happy' is a euphemism for 'you'll have nothing, and you'll deal with it.'

But here’s the thing, they're scared. You can hear the tremble in their voice every time we unfurl the flag or sing the National Anthem. Every time a law-abiding citizen buys a firearm, they cringe. They fear the unyielding force of genuine patriotism because it's the foil to their narrative that nationalism is a dirty word. They FEAR Grassroots Conservatives who will not bow down like the Republican Establishment and RINOs.

This is the moment for the rugged American individualist to stand firm. While these elites plot to "dismember" our very soul, we hold tight to the foundations of our nation, faith, freedom, and the unassailable right to live our lives as we see fit. The heart of American conservatism isn't just beating, it's roaring louder than ever. And in this roar, we'll drown out the dreams of those who wish to turn free men and women into subjects of their global vision.

"We are fast approaching the stage of the ultimate inversion: the stage where the government is free to do anything it pleases, while the citizens may act only by permission; which is the stage of the darkest periods of human history, the stage of rule by brute force."

Ayn Rand

How Did They Get This So Wrong?

In the quirky world of Parker politics, the Town Council might just be the crown jewel of confusion. As we previously dissected in Honey Badger #13, this group has an affinity for marching in near-perfect unison, with a staggering 843 votes cast together in 2023 and a measly 9 dissenting votes. Exclude the procedural “Come to Order” and “Adjourn,” and you’ve got yourself a regular ol’ echo chamber. Doing the work of the People, right…..

Fast forward to April 1, 2024, no joke here, Mayor Jeff Toborg’s valiant effort to reduce grocery taxes was unceremoniously crushed under the collective boot of the Parker Town Council. They voted with stunning uniformity on Resolution 24-028 (Click Here for the Resolution), effectively tossing out the grocery tax cut before it could even see the light of a November ballot. If this isn’t a glaring example of progressive authoritarianism in action, I’m not sure what is. Apparently, allowing "We the People" to make decisions is far too risky for our intellectual superiors on the council. They assume we can’t possibly grasp the complexities of budgets and economics. But let’s consider the facts: even if town revenue didn't increase, which is laughable given the speed at which Parker is growing, we’d be looking at a modest budget cut of 2-3.5%. Yet, instead of tightening their belts, the council’s first move was to threaten a cut to the police budget. Classic fearmongering! But wait, there’s more intrigue—Laura Hefta (R), at a recent Parker Conservatives meeting, proclaimed her support for Mayor Jeff. However, when push came to shove to advance the grocery tax cut, she fell in line with the rest of the council, as per usual, making it a 6-0 vote to kill the tax cut.

So, what’s the plan for "We the People"? With three council seats up for grabs this November, it’s time for a major overhaul. We need fresh, steadfast, grassroots conservative faces on the Parker Town Council. If we can get 3 new patriots in place, Mayor Jeff could be the tie-breaking force we need. It’s only the beginning, but it's a critical step. The rumor mill is churning with potential conservative candidates, but we need more than whispers, we need action. I’m here, ready to help steer a new group toward a grassroots conservative resurgence in Parker.

In the meantime, Douglas County Pride is relocating from Douglas County Fairgrounds to Salisbury Park in Parker. Don’t look for any support from Parker’s own CD4 candidate, Deborah Flora. She’s too busy kicking the can down the road, leaving the heavy lifting to Parker's elected officials in a statement. What I find ironic about this is that Mayor Jeff endorsed Debra Flora and is a steadfast supporter, but when Mayor Jeff could use some heavy-weight help, nope, not my problem. Unbelievable! And our Parker Town Council don’t be looking there for any help, they are taking a page right out of Lora Thomas’s playbook. It seems this topic is just too hot for them. It's a shame; this could have been a seminal moment to help solidify the 3 Parker Town Council members for re-election; this move will show them the door, I believe.

Stay strong, keep fighting, and remember, November is our chance to turn the tide. Let’s make it count!

Colorado Liberty Scorecard Frustrating Politicians Near and Far

Imagine a world where our Colorado politicians grumble about being rated on a scorecard, oh wait, that's already happening in Colorado! It’s like when a kid throws a tantrum because they're being held accountable for not doing their chores. Welcome to the Liberty Scorecard, the parent of all Colorado House and Senate politicians, keeping tabs on whether they're actually doing their job to a set of constitutional values or just playing pretend in the sandbox of the state legislature.

Here’s the deal: Setting expectations (do you have to agree with all of them, no), Check. Just like a parent tells their kid to clean their room, the scorecard guides politicians on Bills to constitutional values and principles. And just like any sensible parent, the scorecard watches like a hawk, making sure they aren’t just selling voters a bag of BS. Like SB24-233, with the help from Lisa Frizell!!! (more on this below).

Feedback and accountability? Absolutely. It's like report card but for grown-ups who run our state. If they fail, everyone sees the score, they can't just hide it in the bottom of their backpack. And when they groan about being scored, it’s akin to a teenager griping because mom and dad won’t let him go out until his homework is done. Tough cookies, isn’t it?

And what about improving and getting rewards? Well, if a politician does a bang-up job and actually follows constitutional values and principles, their score goes up, and voila, they are now representing the people better. It’s not rocket science, it’s basic accountability, something politicians signed up for when they ran for office.

So, if you hear a politician find fault with the Liberty Scorecard, remind them it’s not personal, it’s just parenting. It is a tool that “We the People” can use to make sure you are on the right track. Simple as that. Perfect, no, but not having any tool is anarchy, akin to the inmates running the asylum.

SB24-233 Lisa Frizell Added Lipstick to this PIG!

Well, folks, it's that wonderful time again when the Primary ballots start hitting our mailboxes here in scenic Douglas County. As you sift through the candidates, consider this: Do you really want another tax-and-spend Republican masquerading as a conservative? Enter the arena: Lisa Frizell, currently in House District 45, now running for Senate District 2. Sporting a Colorado Liberty Score (CLS), that's more of a turkey than a hawk, a mere 71 this year. Now, you may say hey, wait a minute, Mark a 71 that is not so bad. Lisa's score in the 2023 session was a dismal 59.6. Let's be clear: she did not improve. She has a competitor for Senate District 2, a real grassroots conservative, running against her, Tim Arvidson.

If you want to see the other Bills Lisa disagreed with CLS in the 2024 session, Click Here. It’s over 200 bills.

But let's talk about her illustrious end to the 2024 session when she touted a Property Tax cut under SB24-233. Let’s dive into the reality, shall we?

SB24-233 is dressed up as a tax cut, but it's more like a wolf in sheep's clothing. Under this bill, Coloradans won't see any relief from the recent spikes in property taxes. In fact, this bill locks in the high rates we're already choked by, thanks to last year's increases. For a home valued at $400,000 in 2022, which already saw a 40% hike in taxes last year, the bill guarantees even higher taxes moving forward, with an increase in effective property tax rate from 5.14% under the current rates to 5.71% by 2026. That's an 11% hike, folks. And for a $700,000 home, it's an 8% increase. Doesn’t sound much like a tax cut to me! To see the full Bill review Click Here.

This so-called reform fails to provide long-term solutions or predictability. It includes several loopholes that essentially exempt half the tax base from the 5.5% district revenue limit, schools, home rule governments, you name it. The next time property values spike, we’re right back where we started, making SB24-233 a band-aid on a bullet wound.

Now, contrast this with Tim Arvidson, a true grassroots conservative challenger who isn't just running a campaign but is standing up for genuine conservative values. It's time to choose wisely, folks. Do you want real conservative leadership, or just more of the same old tax-and-spend song and dance with Lisa Frizell putting the lipstick on a pig?

Make your vote count. Opt for a candidate who actually stands for your interests, not just their own campaign survival.

Vote for Tim Arvidson for Senate District 2.

A Message from Tim Arvidson:

Patriot,

Who does Rep. Lisa Frizell work for?

Lisa Frizell has recently joined forces with the radical Democrats in the

House to sponsor SB24-233. This bill, far from being the property tax relief

Coloradoans desperately need in Joe Biden's failing economy, is actually an

IMMEDIATE increase in property taxes.

This bill is too little, too late, too convoluted, and too complicated for

legislative consideration. It picks winners and losers, which is not the

proper role of government. It fails to provide clear protections against

onerous property tax increases and allows the state to reimburse local

governments for revenue lost, essentially giving them a windfall of funds

that voters never approved.

This is a clear betrayal of conservative values and a slap in the face to

the hardworking people of Colorado. We need proven conservative fighters in

the Colorado Senate who will fight for We The People and not compromise our

paychecks away with the radical extremists in the legislature.

Why did Rep. Frizell wait until the last day of the legislative session to

partner with Democrats in creating this legislative "slop"? Coloradans

deserve better than this kind of political gamesmanship.

In Liberty,

DEFEATING RANKED-CHOICE VOTING

We are currently fighting against Kent Thiry’s proposed Ranked Choice Voting initiatives. The false narratives are many, and they must be debunked. Thiery’s proposed changes will fundamentally eliminate the political parties and the current election system in CO.

A group of grassroots activists have incessantly worked to create three initiatives (aka “The Good Initiatives”) to counteract Thiry’s efforts:

  • Initiative 201: Prohibit Ranked Choice Voting (aka “Instant Runoff Elections)
  • Initiative 202: Ballot Access Through Caucus and Assembly Process (Blocks Petition Only Access),
  • Initiative 278: Primary Elections for Major Political Parties (Close the Primary).

Signatures need to be collected from 2% of each of Colorado’s 35 Senate Districts no later than July 31st. We need volunteers to collect signatures in their Senate District. Please contact the Good Initiatives Team to volunteer. We need all hands on deck!

With your help, these three initiatives will be included in our Colorado Constitution.

Join this serious effort today! Please help us win by:

Protect Kids Colorado

Protect Kids Colorado seeks to educate, unify, and mobilize dads, moms, grandparents, business owners, community leaders, elected representatives and every member of society to protect the kids from becoming minions of “false truths”.

We seek to ignite the “inherited responsibility” of the family and community to protect the most vulnerable – “ the children”.

We seek to restore into the public square and into the public policy of Colorado that parents have a fundamental right and responsibility to nurture and make decisions concerning:

  • the overall care, custody, and accountability of their children,
  • guidance over the education, upbringing instruction, religious and moral instruction,
  • health, medical care, welfare, place of habitation,
  • counseling, psychological, and emotional well-being of their children

A substantial percentage of law-abiding parents and citizens have been conditioned to believe that public schools are a safe environment and that indoctrination concerning sexualization, and gender transformation is not being encouraged in the classrooms. All evidence shows that this is happening in every classroom across Colorado.

Our heart is to mobilize the Church to engage with biblical and medical truth. Our goal is to educate our audience and connect them with resources and organizations across Colorado, creating a social movement.

Protect Kids Colorado stands for preserving America’s constitutional republic of government which preserves the consent of the governed through legitimately elected representatives for the purpose of guaranteeing to each citizen their Creator-given rights.

We have two approved ballot initiatives:

  • Parental Notification of Gender Incongruence
  • Keep Boys out of Girls Sports

The Defense of America is in our Hands

Fellow patriots of Douglas County, gather round, for I have a tale of woe that reads like a Roman tragedy, penned by the hands of the Biden. It's a story where the quill is mightier than the sword, but alas, it seems the pen is being used to doodle away the very might of our shield and sword, our military.

Why, you ask, does Biden and his troupe of leaders in Washington D.C. seem to dance on the edge of self-destruction when it comes to our armed forces? Well, it's as if they've mistaken the Constitution for a mere napkin, wiping at the corners of their mouths as they feast (lining their pockets) upon the globalist agenda, tossing aside the protective cover that has insured our nation's security for centuries.

Let’s look at some of the numbers from the Department of Defense, detailing our annual defense spend as a percentage of GDP since 1953. What leaps out isn't just the numbers but the stark reminder of our vulnerability. In 1999, a calm before the storm, where defense spending hit a record low at 2.7% of GDP. And now, in a twist of historical irony, forecasts for 2024 predict a return to this very same figure, 2.7%, though this time, it's even less of a priority when you consider the overall federal budget pie has grown, making the military's slice thinner than ever.

The Heritage Foundation's 2024 Index of Military Strength paints a picture so grim, it could dampen the spirits of even the most ardent optimist. With ratings ranging from "marginal" to "very weak" across our armed forces, it declares our military posture as "weak." It's as if we are being asked to enter the UFC cage with one hand tied behind our back.

And what of the world stage, you ask? Iran's proxies grow bolder, striking at the heart of our forces and our allies (just look at October 7, 2023), while Russian aggression looms large over Ukraine. Our enemies thrive on our confusion and the weakness of a senile and fragile President, emboldening them to challenge the beacon of freedom that is the United States.

Let us not forget the harsh lesson of September 11, the price of ignoring the wolves at our door. As we've seen too many times, when the light of good retreats, the shadows of evil advance. Freedom, dear friends, comes at a cost, and it is a price we must be willing to pay.

So, this November, I implore you: Do not forsake our military, our shield against the tempest. Do not squander the legacy of those who came before us, who understood that America's strength lies not just in its military might but in its unwavering commitment to the cause of liberty. For if we do, we risk not just the security of our shores, but the very soul of our nation.

HOLD This Date

Saturday, July 13, 2024

In July, Parker Conservatives will not hold a meeting on the first Wednesday of the month like normal. Instead, we are planning a large event to bring Republicans together; the primaries will be behind us, and it is time to focus on the candidates for the November elections.

A note on Deep Space

Are you planning a conservative event and in search of the perfect venue? Deep Space in Parker could be an excellent fit for you if you expect at least 80 attendees and plan on ordering food and beverages. While there is a minimum spend requirement, this should easily be met with a guest list of 80-100 people. If you're interested, please contact me, and I'll connect you with the owners of Deep Space to discuss further details.

So, a question you might have is, “Why Honey Badger”?

Honey Badgers have been described in the Guinness Book of Records as the "most fearless animal in the world" and can even fight off much larger predators like lions and hyenas if challenged. We know the political landscape is filled with hyenas, thus, we need the Honey Badger.
