Douglas County Primary Election Recap 2024
It’s been a veritable MASH unit in the political battlegrounds across Douglas County and the great state of Colorado. Here’s the local recap:
- CD4: Lauren Boebert
- State Board of Education: Kristy “KBB” Burton Brown
- State Senate District 2: Lisa Frizell
- HD39: Brandi Bradley
- HD43: Matt Burcham
- HD45:Max Brooks
- Douglas County DA JD23: George Brauchler
- County Commissioners: George Teal (District 2) Kevin Van Winkle (District 3)
Hats off to all the brave souls who entered the arena. Whether you're a seasoned veteran or a first-time campaigner, stepping into the political arena takes resolve.
For those who fought valiantly but didn’t clinch the victory, remember, this isn’t the time to fade into the shadows. We don’t need ghost soldiers, we need leaders, active on the front lines. Take this as a call to arms to help reclaim our county, state, and nation from the grip of destructive liberal policies. Rally behind our GOP leaders like Steve Peck and Dave Williams, close ranks against open primaries, and challenge the petitioning straight to the ballot. Stand up to School Boards, Town Councils, Colorado State House and wherever we see our Constitution being trampled.
And to our victors who won their skirmishes, the real battle begins now, winning the hearts and minds of every conservative voter for the November showdown. Remember, the grassroots conservatives you might have sidelined are the ones you’ll need to fill in those crucial ballots. Are you going to champion our causes or straddle the fence? Are your coffers filled by grassroots donations or liberal PACs? We’re watching, and believe me, we're taking names.
To the true conservatives out there, our battle is far from over. Critics like Mike Lynch might see groups like Parker Conservatives as the problem within the Colorado GOP, but it’s the faint-hearted, wishy-washy, ‘Trans-Republicans’ who are the real issue. We’re the backbone of the GOP, and without our support, candidates are just hollow shells. We’re looking for real, substantial change from the ground up.
This movement isn’t just a fad, it’s a revolution that’s gaining momentum across America. Big-money groups might have the cash, but we've got the conviction of true American patriots. We’re actively recruiting the disenfranchised and building our ranks, not just in numbers but in spirit.
Mark your calendars for the Barn Revival / Come Together Picnic on July 14 at JA Ranch, hosted by Parker Conservative and the Douglas County GOP. This is your chance to show where you stand. Missing out isn't just a no-show; it's a declaration of where you stand in this war for conservative values and principles.
To those who've stood by me, and to those who've walked away, know that true friendship isn’t about what you gain but what you're willing to stand for together shoulder to shoulder. To my allies, I’ve got your six, and I know you’ve got mine.
Together, we’ll continue to fight for our town, our county, and our country against the progressive menace. So, let’s lock and load for the battles ahead, it's time to win this war in November!

The Sky is Falling, Is It Really?
In the reverberation of yet another electrifying primary election, a big thank you is in order to the Republican Establishment and the ever-so-helpful Trans-Republicans. Your swift calls for the ousting of Dave Williams have been illuminating, to say the least. It’s fascinating how quickly those cries for party unity transform into a witch hunt gathering signatures within our own ranks. This is unity? More like unity under tyranny, or to be less dramatic, under your iron-fisted control.
But wait, there's more! The push to remove current Colorado State GOP officers really tops off your performance. Your unity feels like a cold shower in January on Mt Evans, shockingly unpleasant and entirely unnecessary. And let’s talk about that request of a closed vote. Is the heat of a roll-call vote too much for your fragile feelings? You need to be asking yourself this, “What happens to us if we don’t get the 3/5 vote required to unseat the current Colorado GOP Officers”? Besides being publicly humiliated, you will never be taken seriously again in the State Party. You will become Chicken Little.
We might as well be extras in an episode of "UnXplained Mysteries" with the absurdity on display here. Your attempts at a power grab are so glaringly obvious they’d be comical if they weren't so damaging.
Here’s some free advice: Ditch this disastrous train wreck of a strategy and start practicing what you preach about unity. If you truly believe in change, show some decency and challenge the leadership at the elections in early 2025. But no, why do that when you can continue ripping pages from the Progressive playbook? And you wonder why we withhold our respect.
The real loser from this election isn’t just party unity, it’s the integrity of our political conversation. Step off the soapbox, drop the grandstanding, and maybe, just maybe, we can start taking steps towards genuine unity, not just unity when it’s convenient for your power plays. This is not just a suggestion, it's a call to action for all true grassroot conservatives.

Response to: How Did They Get This So Wrong?
By Parker Town Council Official Laura Hefta

How Did They Get This So Wrong?
Reprint from HB June 2024 Issue
Kept for Context Concerning the Above Response
In the quirky world of Parker politics, the Town Council might just be the crown jewel of confusion. As we previously dissected in Honey Badger #13, this group has an affinity for marching in near-perfect unison, with a staggering 843 votes cast together in 2023 and a measly 9 dissenting votes. Exclude the procedural “Come to Order” and “Adjourn,” and you’ve got yourself a regular ol’ echo chamber. Doing the work of the People, right…..
Fast forward to April 1, 2024, no joke here, Mayor Jeff Toborg’s valiant effort to reduce grocery taxes was unceremoniously crushed under the collective boot of the Parker Town Council. They voted with stunning uniformity on Resolution 24-028 (Click Here for the Resolution), effectively tossing out the grocery tax cut before it could even see the light of a November ballot. If this isn’t a glaring example of progressive authoritarianism in action, I’m not sure what is. Apparently, allowing "We the People" to make decisions is far too risky for our intellectual superiors on the council. They assume we can’t possibly grasp the complexities of budgets and economics. But let’s consider the facts: even if town revenue didn't increase, which is laughable given the speed at which Parker is growing, we’d be looking at a modest budget cut of 2-3.5%. Yet, instead of tightening their belts, the council’s first move was to threaten a cut to the police budget. Classic fearmongering! But wait, there’s more intrigue—Laura Hefta (R), at a recent Parker Conservatives meeting, proclaimed her support for Mayor Jeff. However, when push came to shove to advance the grocery tax cut, she fell in line with the rest of the council, as per usual, making it a 6-0 vote to kill the tax cut initiative.
So, what’s the plan for "We the People"? With three council seats up for grabs this November, it’s time for a major overhaul. We need fresh, steadfast, grassroots conservative faces on the Parker Town Council. If we can get 3 new patriots in place, Mayor Jeff could be the tie-breaking force we need. It’s only the beginning, but it's a critical step. The rumor mill is churning with potential conservative candidates, but we need more than whispers, we need action. I’m here, ready to help steer a new group toward a grassroots conservative resurgence in Parker.
From our Parker Town Council don’t be looking there for any help, they are taking a page right out of Lora Thomas’s playbook. It seems this topic is just too hot for them. It's a shame; this could have been a seminal moment to help solidify the 3 Parker Town Council members for re-election; this move will show them the door, I believe.
Stay strong, keep fighting, and remember, November is our chance to turn the tide. Let’s make it count!

How did this Family End Up in the White House?
Throughout history, we’ve witnessed the rise of many detestable figures, Charles Manson, Adolf Hitler, Hillary Clinton. However, rising to the top of the familial hall of shame is the Biden Crime Family, seemingly competing for the most reprehensible family award.
Questioning the moral compass of the Biden family is like asking if the sky is blue, obvious and undisputed. The only members potentially exempt from this tarnished legacy are Hunter’s ex-wife and his forgotten youngest child, both ostracized, perhaps the only clean hands in a family dripping in scandal.
This family saga reads like a pharmaceutical ad, only instead of selling you a cure, they’re probably spreading the disease. Joe Biden, for his part, not only wrecked a marriage to start his own under questionable pretenses but also indulged in highly inappropriate behavior with his daughter.
The Bidens' tale could very well serve as a cautionary tale of nepotism, corruption, and moral decay, etched into the annals of history as a family not merely flawed but fundamentally rotten. This is not just a story of personal failings; it's a reflection of a disturbing tolerance for such behavior at the highest levels of power, where accountability seems as absent as integrity in their family tree.
History will indeed record Joe Biden's presidency as the worst, but also as the patriarch of a family whose legacy is marred by scandals that should have disqualified them from ever stepping foot in the White House.

The Great Debate Debacle: Biden's Blundering Performance
Ladies and gentlemen, hold onto your MAGA hats because we've got a doozy for you! This weeks presidential debate was supposed to be the grand showdown, the Clash of the Titans, the ultimate battle between good (Trump) and evil (Biden). But what we got was more like a Trump torching of Biden’s long 3.5 years in the White House.
Joe Biden, the self-proclaimed champion of the people, was supposed to come out swinging, defending his record and proving that he's still got what it takes to lead this great nation. Instead, he looked like a deer in the headlights, frozen in time as the world around him crumbled. It was like watching a rerun of Weekend at Bernie's, but with more awkward pauses.
Trump, on the other hand, was in his element, delivering his signature one-liners and jabs like a seasoned pro. He had Biden on the ropes from the start, and it was clear that the former president had done his homework while Biden was busy napping in the Oval Office. The Brandon comment was FIRE!
But let's be real here, folks. This debate was just a formality. We all know that Biden's campaign is a sinking ship, and last weeks performance was the final nail in the coffin. The Progressive Democrats have been scrambling to find a replacement for months, but it's too little, too late. The delegates are already pledged, the money is already spent, and the damage is already done.
So, what's next for the Biden camp? Well, they could try to convince Kamala Harris to step up to the plate, but let's be honest, she's about as popular as stepping in dog crap. Or they could try to rally behind some other up-and-coming Democrat, but at this point, it would be like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. Who would be in the bullpen, Gavin (laws don’t apply to me), Newsom, Lock Her Up Hillary, or Big Mike Obama? A trifecta of human rubbish.
The truth is, the Democrats have no one to blame but themselves. They put all their eggs in the Biden basket, and now they're left with a broken shell of a candidate. It's time for them to face the music and admit that they made a grave mistake. LOL
In the end, this debate was a disaster for Biden and a triumph for Trump. The American people deserve a president who is strong, confident, and capable of leading this country forward. And last night, it was clear that Joe Biden is none of those things. It's time for us to rally behind a strong conservative leader who can steer our nation in the right direction.
TRUMP 2024
"We are fast approaching the stage of the ultimate inversion: the stage where the government is free to do anything it pleases, while the citizens may act only by permission; which is the stage of the darkest periods of human history, the stage of rule by brute force."

ALL HANDS ON DECK/CALL TO ACTION
DEFEATING RANKED-CHOICE VOTING
We are currently fighting against Kent Thiry’s proposed Ranked Choice Voting initiatives. The false narratives are many, and they must be debunked. Thiery’s proposed changes will fundamentally eliminate the political parties and the current election system in CO.
A group of grassroots activists have incessantly worked to create three initiatives (aka “The Good Initiatives”) to counteract Thiry’s efforts:
-
Initiative 201: Prohibit Ranked Choice Voting (aka “Instant Runoff Elections)
-
Initiative 202: Ballot Access Through Caucus and Assembly Process (Blocks Petition Only Access),
-
Initiative 278: Primary Elections for Major Political Parties (Close the Primary).
Signatures need to be collected from 2% of each of Colorado’s 35 Senate Districts no later than July 31st. We need volunteers to collect signatures in their Senate District. Please contact the Good Initiatives Team to volunteer. We need all hands on deck!
With your help, these three initiatives will be included in our Colorado Constitution.
Join this serious effort today! Please help us win by:
1. Signing all three initiatives (Initiative 201, 202 & 278). Click here for a calendar of events/locations to sign. We need to collect 2% of signatures from each of Colorado’s 35 Senate Districts by July 31st.
2. Signing up to collect signatures here.
3. Donating to support printing & delivery of petitions, as well as administrative costs. You can donate here or make checks payable to: The Good Initiatives, 1727 Main St, Box 6067, Longmont, CO 80501

Protect Kids Colorado
Protect Kids Colorado seeks to educate, unify, and mobilize dads, moms, grandparents, business owners, community leaders, elected representatives and every member of society to protect the kids from becoming minions of “false truths”.
We seek to ignite the “inherited responsibility” of the family and community to protect the most vulnerable – “ the children”.
We seek to restore into the public square and into the public policy of Colorado that parents have a fundamental right and responsibility to nurture and make decisions concerning:
- the overall care, custody, and accountability of their children,
- guidance over the education, upbringing instruction, religious and moral instruction,
- health, medical care, welfare, place of habitation,
- counseling, psychological, and emotional well-being of their children
A substantial percentage of law-abiding parents and citizens have been conditioned to believe that public schools are a safe environment and that indoctrination concerning sexualization, and gender transformation is not being encouraged in the classrooms. All evidence shows that this is happening in every classroom across Colorado.
Our heart is to mobilize the Church to engage with biblical and medical truth. Our goal is to educate our audience and connect them with resources and organizations across Colorado, creating a social movement.
Protect Kids Colorado stands for preserving America’s constitutional republic of government which preserves the consent of the governed through legitimately elected representatives for the purpose of guaranteeing to each citizen their Creator-given rights.
We have two approved ballot initiatives:
- Parental Notification of Gender Incongruence
- Keep Boys out of Girls Sports
EVERYONE has a
DEEP-ROOTED RESPONSIBILITY
to Protect our Kids!

So, a question you might have is, “Why Honey Badger”?
Honey Badgers have been described in the Guinness Book of Records as the "most fearless animal in the world" and can even fight off much larger predators like lions and hyenas if challenged. We know the political landscape is filled with hyenas, thus, we need the Honey Badger.
