Vice Chair Announcement

This is my official announcement: I will be running for the Colorado GOP Vice Chair at the upcoming State Central Committee meeting, following the abrupt resignation of D. Lee Phelan.

Let me be clear, this isn’t a decision I made lightly. I took time to pray, consulted with my closest political allies, and, most importantly, my incredible wife, Pam. After witnessing last week’s circus of a Zoom meeting and the jaw-dropping approval of a $2.4 million budget for two years—yes, million—it’s obvious we need a serious course correction. Just let this sink in, before we financially help our Colorado GOP candidates, we must now pay for all the overhead, again, $2.4 million!

Since the new leadership took over, there have been one resignation after another (well, 2, that's 50%). First, the treasurer jumped ship. Now, the vice chair. (Check out The Phelan Farewell Address) Colorado GOP isn’t just adrift; it’s like the Titanic, captained by Brita Horn and her crew of establishment insiders and RINOs who think “grassroots” is a brand to slap on a donor-funded power grab.

Yet this crew approved a budget like they’ve got Elon Musk on speed dial. It’s fantasy finance, and it will leave our conservative candidates out in the cold, as we try to raise money just to pay for all the pork this budget contains. We cannot keep playing pretend with numbers while claiming to be “fiscally conservative.” If we are going to demand fiscal accountability in Washington, you’d better model it in Colorado.

I’m stepping forward to bring real grassroots values, fiscal discipline, operational transparency, and political courage back to the table. Because someone has to be the adult in the room.

My platform is simple:

  • Elect bold, unapologetic conservative Republicans to state and federal office.
  • Work to complete the opt-out/close of the open primary.
  • Help get our Colorado GOP fiscal house in order.
  • And finally, inject real grassroots leadership into this party before it implodes under its own weight of hypocrisy.

To every member of the Colorado State Central Committee: I’m asking for your vote. Not just for me, but for the movement we represent, the one that doesn’t answer to donor dollars or backroom deals. I’ll stand firm where others fold. I’ll say the quiet things out loud. And I’ll fight like a Honey Badger to take our party and state back.

God bless you, and let’s get to work.

Mark Hampton

Candidate for Colorado GOP Vice Chair

"Mark, at least you have never called anyone a prostitute."

Anonymous, June 2025

So who is this Mark Hampton guy running for

Colorado GOP Vice Chair?

Patriots of Colorado, get ready because I’m about to deliver a powerful message. My name is Mark Hampton, and I’m running for Vice Chair of the Colorado GOP. I’m not here to sip cocktails, sing Kumbaya, or hand out friendship bracelets to the establishment and RINOs. I’m here to shake things up and hopefully restore our party to its conservative roots, even if I have to drag it kicking and screaming.
Let me introduce myself. I’m a San Diegan, raised in a Navy family, growing up around SEALS and at Fighter Town USA. I moved to Colorado in 1982 with my wife Pam to chase the American dream of owning a home. I’ve spent my life fighting for what makes this country worth saving: the Second Amendment, the sanctity of life, and a government so small you’d need a magnifying glass to find it. As a writer and activist, I’ve called out the spineless Republicans, the sellouts, and the squishes who’d rather cozy up to Colorado’s elites than stand for conservative values and principles. I’ve never backed down, even when the fights get dirty.
Now, let’s talk about the Colorado GOP. Good Lord, what a spectacle (as they say in the south, Bless their Hearts). Since the new officers took over, it’s been like watching a clown car crash in slow motion, except the clowns are full of egos and nobody’s laughing. Infighting? We have more drama than a reality TV show. Direction? We’re wandering like Moses in the desert, but without the burning bush. And results? Let’s just say we’ll probably have to give participation trophies to any Republicans running in Colorado in 2026, not wins. The true grassroots conservative (not that fake bunch), you guys, are the heart and soul of this party, but the new officers have been ignoring you, sidelining you, and treating your values and principles like a suggestion box they forgot to empty.
That’s where I come in. I’m not here to simply manage this mess or put a Band-Aid on a broken leg with a bone sticking out. I’m here to bring a sledgehammer to the table. Sometimes, you have to break a few things before genuine change can happen. Look at Jesus, yeah, “that” Jesus. When he saw the temple turned into a flea market, He didn’t write a strongly worded social media post or form a committee. He flipped tables, scattered coins, and gave the money-changers a wake-up call that echoed through history. That’s the energy I want to bring to the Colorado GOP. We need a reckoning, not a retreat or a 2-minute video.
Here’s my promise to you: as Vice Chair, I’ll fight tirelessly to bring together genuine conservatives, not those who bow to pressure or gauge the wind before taking a stand (if they take a stand at all). I’ll advocate for a party that listens to the real grassroots rather than the consultants willing to sell us out for another check. I will work to build a winning machine, not just argue on social media (that is not going away, just saying). And I won’t shy away from tough fights, whether it’s defending our guns, protecting the unborn, or telling the woke mob to keep their filthy hands off our children and take their pronouns and shove ‘em. And of course, I am committed to getting true conservatives elected in Colorado.
I will take a stand on the issues of the day; I refuse to stay silent like some do (1312 ring any bells). Now, I know what you’re thinking: “Another politician promising the moon?” Nope. I’m not a politician. I’m a fighter carrying a chip on my shoulder. I don’t care about titles, photo ops, or interviews. I care about reclaiming Colorado for the people who love this state, farmers, ranchers, small business owners, moms, and dads who just want their kids to grow up free. If you want politeness, hire a diplomat. If you want results, vote for me.
The Colorado GOP is at a turning point. We can keep stumbling forward, or we can rise up, stand firm, and make this party a force to be reckoned with. I’m asking for your vote not because I want a fancy title, but because I want to build a party that makes the left tremble in their Birkenstocks and the establishment and RINOs fear us, the true grassroot conservatives. Let’s flip those tables together.
P.S.
I will start scheduling regional video calls for SCC voting members on Friday, the 11th, so watch for your invite. Thank you to everyone who has already taken my calls, and the grassroots army that is forming all around this state to help me win.
In other significant news, I will be debating Richard Holtorf on Thursday, July 10. More details to come. Keep in mind that only one question will be asked, as Richard tends to talk a lot during his answers (luv ya, Richard!). Honestly, it should be a fun time because life is too short to get caught up in nonsense.

"A people that elect corrupt politicians, imposters, thieves and traitors are not victims…but accomplices."

Why I Say "RINO", And You Should Too

Today, someone asked me if I support using the word "RINO." My answer? A resounding, unapologetic YES. Then came the follow-up: “Do you run RINO Watch?” No, I don’t. But I support them. I write for them. I believe in what they’re doing, because someone has to call out the frauds and spineless in our tent. That’s right. I said it.

This poor soul then proceeded to lecture me, telling me “it wasn’t a good thing.” That I needed to change. Change what, exactly? My commitment to conservative values and principles? My refusal to be gaslit into silence by people who campaign like Trump and govern like Polis?

So, I asked him politely, I might add (I know how to be nice), what better way he had to hold these sellouts accountable. You know, the ones who slap an “R” next to their name to cozy up to real conservatives and then vote as if they’re auditioning for an MSNBC contributor spot. Crickets. Not a peep. Since there is no other effective method currently available, the Republican establishment is definitely not interested in reforming itself.

We’ve tried the polite approach. We’ve sat at the table chatting over coffee. The “please, consider the base” routine. And where has that led us? Deeper into a swamp full of career politicians and self-described “Republicans” who couldn’t define liberty if it hit them over the head with a copy of the Constitution.

RINO is more than a name; it’s a mark of shame. And shame is a strong tool when truth is treated like a four-letter word. It highlights the cowards who betray the very people they claim to serve. If you lie to your base, fund the Left’s agenda, and kiss the ring of the donor class, you deserve to bear the badge of dishonor.

Until these so-called Republicans start fearing their base because of their actions and “votes,” I’ll keep saying it: RINO. Loudly. Proudly. Relentlessly.

Because if we don’t hold the line, no one will.

Colorado GOP Crowns a RINO:

Cleave Simpson’s Squishy Rise to Power

Patriots of Colorado, buckle up, because the Colorado GOP Senate caucus just pulled a stunt that’ll make your blood boil. They’ve hoisted Sen. Cleave Simpson, a card-carrying RINO, to lead the pack, replacing Paul Lundeen, who bailed for a gig at a conservative nonprofit. You’d think they’d pick a fighter, a true conservative to carry the torch. Instead, they crowned Simpson, whose record is so squishy it reminds me of the spine in a jellyfish. This smells like a backroom deal cooked up by spineless opportunists, and it’s a slap in the face to every grassroots conservative Republican.

Let’s talk numbers. Simpson flunked the Colorado Liberty Scorecard with a pathetic 47, yep, the *lowest* score of any Republican in the Senate. That’s not a badge of honor; it’s a scarlet letter screaming, “I’d rather cozy up to progressives than fight for conservative values and principles!” This guy’s voting record is a love letter to compromise, siding with the left on issues that make real conservatives gag. And yet, the caucus looked at this walking surrender flag and said, “That’s our guy!” Are you kidding me? You should elect the mail person in the capital to fill the vacancy.

Simpson’s rise reeks of establishment and RINO rot. He was the assistant minority leader, so maybe they thought he was “next in line” like some royal succession. Newsflash: We’re not a monarchy, and we don’t owe RINOs a promotion for betraying our conservative values and principles. His pal, Sen. Barbara Kirkmeyer, gushed that he’s “honest, thoughtful, fair.” Oh barf….Great. So’s my accountant, but I’m not making him a general of a conservative army.

Colorado deserves warriors, not wimps. Simpson’s elevation is a travesty, a middle finger to every conservative patriot fighting for our children, lower taxes, and safer streets. We’re not here to clap for participation trophies. Demand better. Call your senators. Raise hell. Because if we let RINOs like Simpson and Kirkmeyer steer this ship, we’re not just losing, we’re sinking. And I, for one, am not going down without a fight.

Thank you for stepping up and leading!

Do you know someone that works hard for the greater good? Send me a note with the person's name and why we should highlight them. I'll see about having them in an upcoming issue.

The 2025 Colorado Legislative Session: A Liberty Graveyard

Patriots of Douglas County, the most devoted conservative group in the state (more on that later), the 2025 Colorado legislative session has finally come to an end, leaving us to sort through the damage. The Liberty Scorecard counted 439 bills this year, down from over 700 last year, showing progressive demons in the state legislature have simply become more efficient at tyranny. How many made it to Governor Polis’s desk? Who cares. If they did, they’re probably laws now, either raising our taxes or eroding what little rights we have left. Just the same old Denver dumper fire.

Let’s start with a salute to the warriors who held the line: Representatives Stephanie Luck (98), Ken Degraaf (98), Scott Bottoms (97), Ron Weinberg (94), Max Brooks (93), Brandi Bradley (87), and Senator Mark Baisley (86). You folks stood tall for conservative values and principles in a session that felt like a never-ending woke lecture. Max Brooks? A rookie Liberty Score of 93. That’s not just good, it’s a slap in the face to every squishy RINO in the Capitol. Brandi Bradley’s 87, stellar! She fought for kids while others fought for applause or played on their iPads. And Mark Baisley, climbing from a 73 last year to an 86 for 2025. Solid redemption, Senator. Keep it up.

Now, cue the disappointment music.

Brace yourselves for the hall of shame. First, John Carson S30, our Douglas County special election “winner,” scored a dismal 74. John voted to remove “man and woman” from Colorado’s Constitution, replacing sacred vows with some gender-neutral phrase that would let two squirrels tie the knot. Biblical values? Conservative principles? This is not the way, John; you are better than this. Then there’s Anthony Hartsook in HD-44, stuck at a consistent 68. Consistent, sure, like a broken clock—right twice a day. Hartsook’s voting for himself, not his constituents. He could learn a thing or two from freshman Brooks, but Tony’s arrogance will never let that happen.

And the bottom of the barrel? Lisa Frizell S02, plummeting from a 72 (last year when she needed votes) to a pitiful 55, flipping all of Douglas County the one finger salute. She and Barbara Kirkmeyer (49), another marriage language sellout, seem to be racing to betray every conservative value and principle we hold dear. Kirkmeyer’s score is so low it’s practically a participation trophy. And let’s not forget Douglas County’s loan democrat representative Bob Marshall HD43, scraping by at 31, down from 35 last year.

Douglas County, we deserve better. These scores aren’t just numbers—they’re a report card on who’s fighting for us and who’s cozying up to the left. Let’s hold these disappointments accountable, toss out the trash where we can in 2026, and find us some true conservative champions!

How RINO Sellouts Stabbed Douglas County in the Back

Grassroot patriots of Douglas County, buckle up for a reality check that stings worse than a hornet’s nest kicked over by a woke protester. The recent Home Rule vote wasn’t just a loss; it was a full-blown massacre, a 71% to 29% drubbing that left our conservative values and principles bleeding out on the ballot box floor. This wasn’t a polite disagreement; it was a public flogging of everything we stand for, and we’ve got some of our own to thank for it. Yes, I’m looking at you, so-called “Republicans” who cozied up to Democrats.

Let’s break it down. Home Rule was our shot to seize local control, to tell the Denver Democrats to keep their grubby fingers off our zoning, taxes, and governance. It was a chance to fortify Douglas County as a conservative stronghold, exempt from most of the state’s one-size-fits-all mandates. But instead of rallying, we got played. The “No” vote, fueled by a coalition of leftists and turncoat Republicans, didn’t just win, it steamrolled us. Over 66,000 voters slapped down Question 1A like it was a month-old fish fillet in the Colorado summer heat, leaving us with nothing but excuses and a $500,000 bill for the special election.

And who do we thank for this disaster? Step right up, Lora Thomas, former commissioner and self-proclaimed Republican (just change parties), who decided to team up with the likes of Democrat Angela Thomas and State Rep. Bob Marshall to form the “Stop the Power Grab” circus. Lora, were you confused about which party you represent? Did you think “R” stands for “Radically Undermine Conservatives”? You didn’t just oppose Home Rule; you led the charge against it, whining about “secrecy” and “rushed processes” while holding hands with the same Democrats who want to turn Douglas County into Boulder-2.0. This wasn’t leadership; it was betrayal, wrapped in a sanctimonious bow.

The fallout? Catastrophic. We’ve handed the Democrats a playbook: divide Douglas County conservatives, scare the unaffiliated with buzzwords like “power grab,” and watch us implode. Douglas County, once a red fortress, is now a battleground where unaffiliated voters are 49.4% of the electorate and lean left because we can’t get our act together. Trump barely won here by 7 points in 2024. Seven! That’s not a mandate; it’s a warning. We’re bleeding ground, and so-called Republicans like Thomas are handing out the knives.

So, what now? We don’t sulk; we fight. Call out the sellouts. Demand loyalty from our leaders. And next time, we won’t let a few Judas Republicans tank our future. Douglas County isn’t lost yet, but if we keep letting RINOs play footsie with Democrats, we’ll be waving a white flag while Denver turns us into their progressive pet project. Get mad, get organized, and let's take our county back!

The Conservative Smackdown America Needs

Ladies and gentlemen of Colorado’s grassroots conservative crew, get ready because I’m about to explain why President Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” is the kind of patriotic, America-first masterpiece that makes progressives clutch their protesting signs and weep. This isn’t just a bill, it’s a Bunker-Buster Bomb aimed at the woke, bloated, bureaucratic mess we’ve had to put up with over the last 4 years. Let’s get into why…

First off, this bill delivers tax cuts so juicy they’d make a Shanahan’s steak blush. It locks in the 2017 Trump tax cuts, keeping more of your hard-earned cash out of Uncle Sam’s pockets. No taxes on tips or overtime! That’s a high-five to every waitress, trucker, and rancher grinding it out. And for our seniors, a beefed-up $4,000 standard deduction means Grandma can keep more of her Social Security without the IRS playing Grinch. The left whines about “deficits,” but they’re just mad their green-energy slush funds got the boot.

Speaking of which, this bill torches Biden’s eco-fantasy nonsense. No more handouts to Big Solar or windmill barons pretending they’re saving the planet while your energy bills skyrocket. It slashes those Inflation Reduction Act tax credits and unleashes fossil fuels, mining, and logging on public lands. Colorado’s energy workers, real men and women who power this nation, get to thrive again.

Then there’s the border. This bill pumps $150 billion into securing our southern flank, with more ICE agents, detention beds, and a wall that’d make China jealous. It’s a love letter to law and order, smacking down the open-border chaos that’s let cartels and smugglers run wild. Colorado’s rural communities, already strained by migrant surges, can breathe easier knowing Trump’s got their back. The left calls it “cruel.” I call it common sense, unless you think child trafficking is a good thing.

And let’s talk about reining in the welfare state. Work requirements for Medicaid and SNAP! About time. If you’re able-bodied, you don’t get to mooch off taxpayers while binge-watching Netflix. This bill saves $700 billion on Medicaid and $280 billion on food stamps over a decade, trimming the fat without touching those who truly need help. It’s not “heartless”, it’s fairness.

Finally, this bill slaps down the woke mob. Defunding Planned Parenthood? Check. Protecting parents’ rights? Double check. It’s a middle finger to the blue-haired brigade trying to rewrite our conservative values and principles. Colorado conservatives, this is your victory lap. The “Big Beautiful Bill” isn’t just policy, it’s a battle cry for freedom, prosperity, and sanity.

Let’s make America great again and for all time!

Quality Grassroots Conservative News and Opinion:

Where you want it, when you want it.

What is "We The People Network" all about? This is where the Real Grassroots Conservative Patriots roast Libtards and RINO’s!

Hey there, freedom lovers and truth seekers! You've stumbled upon "We the People Network," the digital campfire around which the true grassroots conservatives of Parker, Douglas County, Colorado, and our great Nation gather to warm their hands to the flames of liberty.

Are you tired of the same old song and dance from the UniParty and establishment media, where the story never changes, and the tune is always "more of the same"? Well, pull up your folding chair because we're here to change that up with some good old-fashioned grassroots conservative passion!

Here at "We the People Network," we're not just conservative, we're grassroots conservatively “conservative.” We believe in calling out the Left and just as much the UniParty, Establishment Republicans, and those pesky RINO’s faster than you can say "taxation is theft."

What's on the menu, you ask? A hearty helping of news, opinion, and a side of sarcasm, all served fresh. We're serving up stories that the mainstream media wouldn't touch with a ten-foot pole unless, of course, they could use it to prop up their narratives.

Our mission? To embolden you, the backbone of America, with the truth bombs that'll make you the most interesting person at any gathering or, more importantly, at the voting booth. We're here also to support those brave souls running for Republican office who actually remember what the Constitution looks like.

Think of us as your one-stop shop for:

  • News: The kind that doesn't make you feel like you're being sold swampland in Washington, DC.
  • Opinion: Rants with the sharpness of a skilled surgeon.
  • Activism: Because shouting at your TV only does so much.

Think of us like Turning Point’s rowdy older uncle, who shows up to the family reunion in his pick-up, 12 pack under his arm, a cigar, holding a megaphone. We're here to amplify the grassroots conservative voice, ensuring that "We the People" isn't just a catchy preamble but a living, breathing movement.

So, if you're ready to join the ranks of the informed, the irked, and the outright indignant, welcome aboard. Let's expose some Leftist Progressives, UniParty, Establishment Republicans, RINOs, and those new Trans-Republicans, and support our fellow patriots, and maybe, just maybe, save the republic one click at a time.

So, a question you might have is, “Why Honey Badger”?

Honey Badgers have been described in the Guinness Book of Records as the "most fearless animal in the world" and can even fight off much larger predators like lions and hyenas if challenged. We know the political landscape is filled with hyenas, thus, we need the Honey Badger.
