VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: MELISA GUST
"I completed my volunteer training in January 2019 and have been volunteering with the Centre for Grief & Healing since then. I attended group regularly for approximately a year following the death of my father. As I was moving through my own grief journey I wanted to find a way to give back and help others the way that I had been helped. Volunteering with the Centre for Grief & Healing was a great way for me to do that.

My favourite part of volunteering is meeting all the great people who are going through what I went through and being able to offer them some encouragement that they are strong enough to make it through. One thing about grief & bereavement that I would like our participants/members to know is that everyone’s grief journey is different with no set timeline. You can’t avoid it as much as you may want to – you can only move through it until eventually you get to the other side. One suggestion I would make to new potential volunteers is do it!!! Not only does it provide an opportunity for you to help others – it will enrich your own life." - Melisa Gust

We would like to give a huge thank you & recognition to Melisa for her dedication and ongoing successes in her volunteer role. She is truly such an integral part of our volunteering team. Thank you for all that you do!
