| Friends and Colleagues, Did you know that Black Swan Books employs an archivist? I joined the staff a few years ago to help tackle the mountain of ephemera that’s accumulated around here. So when you see an unusual non-book item on the list, the chances are good that I was the one who researched the who/what/when/where/why of it. The maps, letters, artwork, photos, and general antiquarian weirdos mostly pass over my desk. An example on this list is the set of 1960s yearbooks from Richmond’s former Elkhardt Middle School. I brag about my job all the time. I get to learn so much about history, especially my city. Most people don’t get to do that directly from the random historical ephemera left behind by all sorts of fellow Richmonders – unless you are clever enough to subscribe to this list. I hope you find something on here that intrigues you. Happy history hunting, Erica | | |
