The House That Prayers Built
Hello Again, Rainbow Village Family!

At Rainbow Village, we speak a lot about our work to support the families we serve. Reviewing applications, interviewing families, providing and maintaining 30 apartments, facilitating life skills classes, connecting families with resources, providing educationally based care for our younger residents, and holding life-changing Success Coaching sessions for our residents – and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. We pour a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into every one of our “Villagers.” But all that work aside, the most important thing we do for the families who call Rainbow Village home is pray. Those prayers begin the moment they call and intensify when they arrive on our campus. We envision a bright future for them and ask God to help us pave their paths. I like to imagine each prayer is a brick to the house that will one day be home to their family beyond the borders of Rainbow Village.
For two families last month, those prayers were realized. As with many single moms who spend time at Rainbow Village, these two women became fast friends – “soul sisters” is probably a more accurate description. Between them, they have three children and a shared dream of a stable roof over all their heads. To help facilitate their dream of home ownership, we tapped our amazing partners at Duluth-based real estate brokerage firm – Rudhil Companies – to find creative solutions for overcoming challenges such as high mortgage rates and housing costs. While we prayed and Rudhil worked its magic, these two women did the really tough work – reducing their debt, increasing their credit scores, and saving for a down payment. It wasn’t easy, but oh, how sweet the reward. On May 23, they closed on their beautiful new home.
It's a prime example of everything we hope and pray for our residents – homeless to homeowner – and all the benefits that go with that. So please join us in thanking God while congratulating these two powerhouse women – one of whom was our 2022 Women’s Giving Circle Barbara Howard Award recipient – on this incredible accomplishment.

Peace and Blessings,

The kids of Rainbow Village may be out of school for the summer, but they'll be busy at our annual Rainbow Village Academy Summer Camp all season long. We'll keep their days filled with fun, but we need help keeping their bellies filled, too. Since they won't have access to school lunches - as they do during the school year - we need the assistance of caring individuals, organizations, and companies over the weeks to come. There are THREE WAYS you can help...
