The House of Mews MEWSLETTER
| MARCH 2012 |

Dear Friends of Mews, For our friends online who didn't receive our Annual Food Drive mailing in the mail, it is shown here! (Designed by volunteer Christina Horton, pictures courtesy of volunteers Abby Wallace and Holly Smith.) If you are not on our mailing list and want to help with the Food Drive, click here to make a donation, including mail-in and PayPal options.
Bringing your lunch to work for a week can help us with our ANNUAL FOOD DRIVE.
How?
Consider sending the money you've saved for the week to The House of Mews--let's call it $20. We'll use that money to buy ONE MONTH of lunches for FOUR homeless kitties in our sanctuary, a total of 120 LUNCHES.
What would be even better is if you kept on making a MONTHLY DONATION.
We'll serve lunch to Cece, Spottie, Peanut and Elvis (or four of their 130 furry friends). ON YOU.
Once again, from the bottom of our hearts, we say THANK YOU for your continued dedication to us! Such simple words could not express all that you have done to help us, but we really mean it... we could not do this alone and you have been there for us and we feel very blessed.
Sincerely, Elain Harvey Founder, Managing Director The House of Mews

Featured Kitty: JEWELL I am an affectionate female black short-haired kitten that was abandoned. I can't really remember what happened but I guess it doesn't really matter now anyway. Jewell is a perfect name for me because all the volunteers say I am precious. I love to be held and have my chin scratched. And just look at my cute little face and my neatly folded paws - how can you resist? Remember, black cats are not bad luck! Approx. DOB is 10/1/11. |
Please HELP... we need supplies!
We could use donations of: BLEACH, LAUNDRY DETERGENT, Friskies or Fancy Feast canned food (pate/loaf style only), tall kitchen white trash bags, Clorox Green Works window cleaner, hand sanitizer gel, and Odor Ban liquid cleaner (from Sam's Club). We are happy to give you a receipt for your tax records in exchange. Or if you prefer, you may make a monetary donation via PayPal. One more thing, could you please email houseofmew@aol.com and let us know if you are able to help out so we can plan adequate storage space?
Or, feel free to shop from our new AMAZON.COM WISHLIST anytime! You don't even have to leave home to help! |

About Us
Puddy Tat Protectors, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) community service organization, in business since 1994 and dedicated to the rescue and care of homeless cats and kittens. The organization's other missions include spaying and neutering all cats adopted from the House of Mews, educating the public on the humane treatment of cats, reporting and preventing the abuse of animals, and encouraging respect for the rights and dignity of animals. The felines of Puddy Tat Protectors, Inc. are adopted through The House of Mews, a cat sanctuary and adoption agency which serves as an alternative to local government-run shelters. The House of Mews does not purchase or sell cats; it operates on the fundamental principle that the lives of other living, emotional beings are not marketable or "for sale." However there is an adoption application process and adoption fee.
The House of Mews, located at 933 S. Cooper in the heart of the Midtown in the Cooper-Young Historic District, is staffed by hard-working, non-paid volunteers and offers a gift shop with retail cat supplies, T-shirts and cat art.
The House of Mews is supported by corporate and public donations, retail sales and adoptions, fundraisers and an annual 5K Walk/Run Meowathon, bequests left to us in wills and insurance policies where our friends have listed The House of Mews as "owner" of which entitles the giver a tax deduction during their lifetime. Judge Freeman Marr of Marr & Malone in Bartlett, TN does FREE wills for those of our friends who wish to leave a bequest to The House of Mews (Puddy Tat Protectors, Inc.).
DID YOU KNOW - Our adoptions fees have not changed since we opened for business in 1995???? Adoption fees are $70 and up.
