FROM OUR PRESIDENT
Greetings to Our Hub on Canal Supporters

You wouldn't know it by checking the thermometer but Summer is beginning to give way to Fall. The kids have returned to school and the snowbirds are checking their calendars to see when they might want to return to paradise. We're happy for the transition. August is our low point for visitors and as much as we appreciate a break, we want the crowds to return. We love our guests.

We're ready to show them a good time. Do you like flowers? Who doesn't? On 1st Saturday, September 7, we debut a new Founders Gallery exhibition of striking floral paintings by Broward County artist Diane DeShong Cannon. Be sure to be there for Diane's talk at 6pm that day. By the way, if you've yet to view the exhibition in our Fine Art Photography Gallery,  Mr. Crow Saves the Universe , by photographer Rick de Yampert, be sure to catch that too.

If music at The Hub is your thing, we'll see you twice in September. On September 13 we again partner with The Little Theater to present  A Little Broadway . Two weeks or so later it's Jazz Fest on the 28th. Jazz pianist Joshua Bowlus headlines. Joshua will be joined by renowned singer and veteran Hub performer Linda Cole. Both musical events promise to be amazing. I'll see you there.

Shifting gears completely, September is also the month that sees the resumption of art therapy classes for Alzheimer's and early dementia patients. We're proud to partner with The Alzheimer's Association to offer these proven classes. If you know someone who could benefit from this free program, let us help you get the process started. You should also know that we host a monthly support group for the caregivers of Alzheimer's patients.
Richard England, President
