FROM OUR PRESIDENT
Greetings to Our Hub on Canal Supporters,

Ready or not, here comes the Holiday Season! Where has the year gone? If you're like me, the older I get the faster time seems to go. Whether that's a real thing or not, here we are. The temperatures have dipped, the beautiful palm trees on Canal Street are wearing their lights and we'll soon be watching the Christmas land parade followed the next week by Christmas on the water with the holiday boat parade. By the time you read this Santa will have already taken up residence in Christmas Park.

The Hub is doing its part to add joy to the Holiday Season and make your gift-giving responsibilities a bit easier. We've got two not-to-miss events this month. Up first on Sunday, December 8 is David McElroy's one-man performance of Dickens' A Christmas Carol . David plays all 37 characters. He performed last year as well, to rave reviews. If you were there for that performance you'll want to come again. If you were not, gather up the family and join us. Space is limited and we expect to sell out.

Once McElroy's performance gets you into the holiday spirit, be sure to join us on Friday, December 13 for a Cuchetti Family Christmas. This is always one of our most popular musical performances. The Cuchetti's never fail to please and you should anticipate singing along. Just try not to smile! The kids and grandkids will love this one.

Finally, in our effort to help you get unique, handmade and artistic gifts under the tree, come into The Hub and have a look around The Holiday Gallery of Gifts. Our variety is wide so there's something for almost everyone. Stop in early for the best selection.

Please have a Merry Christmas or a Happy Hanukkah (or maybe both!). Bring on 2020!
Richard England, President

WINTER ART CAMP FOR KIDS
An Artist is Born!
Thursday & Friday
January 2 & 3, 2020
10am to 2pm, Ages: 6-11
Led by Artist Instructor Kristin Selzer, this two-day camp will teach young artists that art can be all around them with just a little imagination. Kid artists will construct their very own artist supply kit from colorful duct tape, make watercolors from everyday kitchen items, learn watercolor techniques, then paint an action figure or aquatic animal. Artists take home their one-of-a-kind kits, supplies and paintings, so they can keep on creating!

Cost includes all art supplies. Member parent $60; Non-member parent $70. Registration details at theHUBoncanal.org or call 386.957.3924
ARTISTS' CORNER
Welcome new Artist, Amy Perrier
Amy was a Hub artist a few years back and has returned with an new style. She is regularly in her studio #10 so be sure to visit with her on your next visit to The Hub. Amy works in acrylic paints, incorporating various techniques to add depth and interest to the work. She paints intuitively, often seeking an abstract outcome. To that end you will find her using a palette knife or her fingers, and rarely painting with brushes.
VOLUNTEER CORNER
Holiday Decorating
Decorating The Hub for the holidays takes many hands. Here we have co-founder Sally Mackay and her husband Richard Spangler working on attaching garland to The Hub's staircase railing.
