MEET OLIVER!

This strong little boy is five years old. Oliver is battling B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

Oliver was diagnosed with ALL in July 2024. He is in the middle of a three and a half year treatment plan. He has proven to be a determined fighter since the day he was diagnosed.

Oliver celebrated his fifth birthday last month. Due to his immunity being compromised, his Oncologist advised against him celebrating around other people. As a result, Oliver’s community came together and organized a mile long birthday parade. The parade included first responders, church members, and strangers alike. They all drove by honking their horns and delivering gifts! When not undergoing treatment, Oliver’s favorite things include playing outside with his brothers, riding his four wheeler, and playing video games!

MEET KRYSTALYN!

This inspiring young lady is 12 years old. Krystalyn is battling Brain Cancer.

Krystalyn’s world was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with several inoperable brain tumors. She started a clinical trial in August 2024 at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We are thrilled to share that after two months of receiving the trial drug, scans showed that almost all of Krystalyn’s tumors had disappeared. She is currently taking oral chemotherapy and continues to travel to St. Jude every few months for routine scans as well as lumbar punctures.

This past December, Krystalyn’s family launched a non-profit called “Standing With Krystalyn” which is an organization dedicated to providing emotional, spiritual, and financial support to children and families facing critical health challenges. They are committed to spreading joy and have passed out hundreds of “joy bags” to kids and families being treated at St. Jude.

Krystalyn’s family has relied heavily on their faith throughout this journey and live by the saying that “If he did it before, he’ll do it again.” They have also clung to Philippians 4:13 which says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” When she grows up, Krystalyn aspires to be a cosmetologist. Needless to say, she loves nails and makeup! Krystalyn also enjoys performing Tik Tok dances, playing outside, playing volleyball, and aggravating her little brother!

COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Our office has been full of energy and excitement this spring, thanks to some amazing local soccer teams who have joined us in a truly meaningful effort. We’ve had the privilege of welcoming both the Christian Brothers High School soccer team and the University of Memphis women’s soccer team to our space, where they graciously volunteered their time and talents to help us create heartfelt “comfort cards” for our teammates.

These cards—filled with uplifting words, warm thoughts, and personal messages—will be sent to children across the globe who are bravely battling cancer. The simple act of receiving a handwritten note of encouragement can mean the world to a child fighting through treatment, and we are so grateful to these dedicated young athletes for stepping up to make a difference. Their compassion, kindness, and willingness to give back to the community is nothing short of inspiring. Each message they wrote will help to lift the spirits of our young teammates and remind them that they are not alone in their fight.

We believe in the power of small gestures to create big impact, and this project is a beautiful example of just that. If you’re part of a local group, team, club, or organization in the community and would like to get involved by helping us create “comfort cards,” we would love to hear from you! Please feel free to reach out to ainsley@cancerkickers.com to coordinate your participation.

Together, we can bring hope, encouragement, and joy to kids who need it most!

NOTABLE AND NEWSWORTHY

On March 22, 2025, we proudly hosted the 8th annual Big Buffalo 50 Ultra Marathon at the beautiful Shelby Farms Park in Memphis, TN, and what a day it was! This event has become the heart and soul of our annual fundraising efforts, and this year’s race was nothing short of extraordinary. With warm sunshine and clear skies, the weather couldn’t have been more perfect for a day filled with movement, community, and purpose.

Over 300 passionate runners joined us on the trails, taking on distances that challenged their limits and tested their endurance. From the early morning starting horn to the final finish line cheers, the atmosphere was electric with excitement, determination, and support. But it wasn’t just about the race—hundreds of friends, family members, and supporters lined the course and the event village, creating a lively, festival-like atmosphere filled with encouragement and celebration.

After crossing the finish line, runners were treated to a well-deserved celebration. They enjoyed juicy burgers, hot pizza, and ice-cold beer—all the essential ingredients for a post-race reward! Meanwhile, kids had a blast burning off their own energy at our Ninja Gym play area. It was a day that truly had something for everyone, and the sense of joy and connection was palpable throughout the park.

What makes this event so special is not just the challenge of the ultra marathon itself, but the incredible impact it has. This year, we are thrilled to share that our fundraising efforts shattered previous records! We reached new heights that will allow us to make an even greater difference in the lives of children battling cancer around the world. Every step run, every dollar donated, and every volunteer hour helped bring us closer to our mission.

We are deeply grateful to every single person who helped make this day such a success. To our amazing runners who trained for months, our generous donors who believe in our cause, our incredible vendors who helped make the event seamless, and our dedicated volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes—we couldn’t do this without you. Your passion and support keep this event going strong year after year!

It’s never too early to start getting excited for next year! Plans are underway for the 9th annual Big Buffalo 50, set for March 21, 2026. So mark your calendars, tell your friends, and start training—it’s going to be another unforgettable year, and we can’t wait to see you there!

Together, we run with purpose. Together, we make a difference!
