Training Tip

Seeing Livestock Through Their Eyes

The Goats and Gates Small Ruminant Stockmanship event, hosted by Kinder Ground in partnership with the University of California, Davis and the University of California Cooperative Extension, brought hands-on learning to life. The Humane Handling Institute's Ashlynn Kirk shared insights into how cattle perceive the world, revealing key visual similarities among cattle, goats, and sheep. Attendees got to experience livestock vision firsthand using cutting-edge augmented reality technology. Adding to the excitement, renowned livestock handling expert Temple Grandin joined the event and tried the technology for the very first time!
