Welcome to the last week of Jack's Plants of the Week. This week we will be talking about the dates and time of the sale and the special plant.
So the plant sale will be Wednesday, May 11th, Thursday, May 12th, and Friday, May 13th. We will be having it in the greenhouse on Wednesday at 2:00 and it will end at 5:00. On Thursday we will be open in the morning at 8:30 am and that one will last till 9:30 and we will open back up at 2:00 and it will end at 5:00. On Friday, depending on if we are sold out or not, we will have one at 2:00 and that will end at 4:00.
Now let's talk about prices. The prices are going to be very simple. The tomatoes are going to be 5 dollars and the rest are going to be 5 dollars or less. And the money will be going to the shop and technology program so we can get materials so kids can make sweet projects in Mr Mucke's classes. Unfortunately we're not set up for credit card sales so it will have to be cash only.
But wait, there's more! This is what you have been waiting for and the special plant is the Cucamelon. Some of us aren't really familiar with this plant. Here are some of the highlights from the Territorial Seed catalog. The cucamelon tastes like "a sweet cucumber with a tangy, citrus twist." They also look great when they are in hanging baskets because the fruit looks like a tiny watermelon. The last thing I want to say is they are highly productive, so you can pick these all through the summer.
