Hyer PTA Membership Dues & DirectorySpot
PTA membership dues are $60. Membership includes access to DirectorySpot (Hyer's online directory). In addition to DirectorySpot access, membership is required to hold a position on the PTA Board, to volunteer for any PTA-related activities or to serve as a Room Parent. We encourage all families to join the PTA!
Family Underwriting Campaign
As in any year, Hyer still will have an annual $650,000 funding gap created by Texas school finance “recapture” laws. Hyer depends on the generosity of our families to bridge this $650,000 funding gap and continue as the outstanding school that it is. Our Family Underwriting campaign is the most cost-effective way we raise funds to support the programs and resources that will benefit your student this year at Hyer. We also have several special, this-year-only benefits and events available exclusively through family underwriting.
You will receive our NEW Family Underwriting postcard in the mail! Join the campaign via the QR code on the postcard OR through BSSU.
Hyer Auction
The Hyer Auction is a beloved tradition and the biggest event of the year! Join us at Hyer Honky Tonk for an evening of fun and fundraising. Don't forget to check your Family Underwriting Level Benefits in case auction tickets were already included in your underwriting package.
Hyer Dads Club Dues
Hyer Dads Club membership dues are $125. Participation is a great way to get to know other Hyer dads. The Dads Club offers fun events throughout the year for dads and students. **You will have opportunity to purchase tickets to Dads Club events on BSSU**
T-Shirt Size
Please select your student's t-shirt size for his/her complimentary event shirts distributed throughout the year.
Library Gift Books
A special tradition at Hyer! Honor your student during his/her birthday month with a book gifted to the library that will forever include your student's nameplate on the inside cover. Books purchased during BSSU will be chosen during your student's birthday month.
Class Supply Fee
The class supply fee is required for all students, and covers a portion of classroom software subscriptions and all consumable student and classroom supplies needed for the school year. The PTA is able to take advantage of bulk pricing by ordering supplies for all students. The supply fee is included in online registration as a convenience to our parents to avoid back-to-school supply shopping. All students K-4th must submit this fee.
Class Kitty Fee
Our teachers and staff are our most valuable assets. The Class Kitty provides the funding needed for each of our teachers to receive a birthday gift, teacher appreciation gift and end-of-year gift. The Class Kitty also covers gifts for the staff members who make your child's time at Hyer so special. All students PreK - 4th must submit this fee.
Spring Carnival Wristbands
Our Spring Carnival will be on Friday, March 27, from 3-5pm. Purchase your all-inclusive All-Day Games Wristband for $25. Your child will have unlimited access to games for the afternoon PLUS $5 in concessions! You also can purchase additional wristbands in $10 increments for the Hyer Store and concessions. Buy your wristbands during BSSU so you can skip the lines when you arrive at the Carnival.
Teacher Appreciation Fund
Help support Hyer teachers and staff with a contribution to the Teacher Appreciation Fund. This fund will be used by the Hyer PTA to cover the costs of monthly teacher/staff appreciation lunches. Let's celebrate and honor our deserving teachers together!
Hyer Volunteers
Parent involvement at Hyer is what sets our school apart from all others. Since 1949 when our doors on Caruth first opened, Hyer has benefited from the time and talent that our parent volunteers have generously given. During BSSU, you can sign up for many volunteer positions, including Room Parent. Helping at Hyer gives you the opportunity to meet other parents and become a partner in your child's education.
