Dearest Hyer Families,
Happy New Year! I hope you had a rejuvenating winter break filled with joy and quality time with loved ones. We can't wait to welcome our students back this week on Wednesday! The start of a new calendar year is a perfect moment to reflect on our achievements from the fall and set bold new goals for the spring.
Additionally, as we start the new semester, please help your child re-establish school-night routines to ensure they arrive at school prepared, on time and ready to learn. Punctuality and school attendance are crucial pieces to not only school success. but also, in building good liflelong habits. Students who leave school early, arrive late, or who are absent for activities outside of school, miss valuable instructional time, classroom discussions and experiences which are critical to their school success and mastery of grade level curriculum. Unfortunately, teachers cannot provide homework assignments that replicate classroom conversations and hands-on learning experiences that happen while at school. Please consider this as you think about pulling your student before dismissal or bringing him/her to school late. I know the teachers greatly appreciate when you are able to schedule appointments outside of school hours. School starts at 7:55 a.m. each day.
Thank you for your continued partnership in your child's education. Let's make 2026 our best year yet!
Gratefully,
Debbie
