March 30, 2026 / Robert S. Hyer Elementary School

Dear Hyer Families,

As we head into the final months of the school year, I wanted to share a few important dates so that you can mark your calendars.

~ State Testing, the STAAR Test (State Assessments of Academic Readiness) for our 3rd and 4th graders is April 9th and April 29th, ELA and math, respectively. (No lunch guests on either of these dates. Additionally, no volunteers unless volunteering for a cafeteria shift.)

~ Field Day is May 15th.

~Last Day of School/Early Release is May 22nd.

As we encounter warmer temperatures during the next couple months, remember to send a water bottle to school with your child.

Lost & Found: Check for missing items before unclaimed items are donated at the end of the year. The lost and found is located in the back hallway near the recess doors.

Enrollment for Next Year: Please encourage any families new to Hyer to register their students, no matter what grade level, as soon as possible! Current families with incoming kindergarten students, please do the same. Registration information can be found on the district website. If you will not be returning to Hyer next year, please contact Kim Shelton in the front office.

Thank you for being part of our wonderful school community and for all of the ways that you continue to support Hyer, our students, and our staff!

Kind regards,

Debbie

To our Queen of Carnival - Kimberly Bell! Her calm presence and collected, cool day-of execution was the balance needed for the high energy, fun chaos she created at the Wild West Fest!
