March 03, 2025 / Robert S. Hyer Elementary School

Dearest Team Hyer,

We are kicking off the week with excitement as we celebrate our Grandfriends today and welcome our families to Open House on Tuesday evening. Our students and teachers have been working diligently to prepare for these events, and they are thrilled to host all of our special guests at Hyer this week. Grandfriends will enjoy grade-level performances, and all our guests are sure to see the top-quality student work displayed throughout the building. I couldn’t be more proud of our teachers and students and the incredible work they do each day.

We have a short week ahead, followed by Spring Break next week. Whether you’re traveling or staying close to home, I know the time spent with your kids away from school will be cherished—a chance to enjoy a slower-paced routine, family activities, and the opportunity to make special memories together.

Wishing you all an incredible Spring Break!

Respectfully,

Debbie

We’re excited to welcome all Huskies to Hyer TOMORROW, Tuesday, March 4th! The families of our Huskies are welcome to visit their students' classrooms and view our art show from 5:00-6:00 PM. This will be a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the hard work your Husky has been doing this year!

Huskies can also enjoy pizza Tuesday night with Mimi's. Mention Hyer when you order!

DADS CLUB DINE OUT AT OLIVELLA'S TONIGHT!

Join us for dinner this Monday, March 3rd at Olivella’s Pizza on McFarlin by SMU. Olivella’s is donating 10% of all sales to the Dads Club – all funds will be donated to support our teachers.

MARCH PURPOSEFUL PEOPLE

During the month of March, the Hyer staff is on the lookout for Hyer Huskies who demonstrate the character trait of COOPERATION. COOPERATION is defined as working together to reach a shared goal. This is the trait our whole school is focused on as part of our PurposeFULL People curriculum.

THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THE KC CLUB'S CLOTHING DRIVE!

The Clothing Drive benefiting Goodwill Industries of Dallas was a huge success! The KC Club has delivered trunks full of winter clothing that will be sold in Goodwill Stores, which supports their employees and the surrounding communities.

KC Club members took a tour around the central Goodwill warehouse facility and attached store, learning firsthand how the organization receives, sorts, distributes, and sells the donated items they receive.

THIRD AND FOURTH GRADERS WOULD BE SEW GRATEFUL!

Our 3rd and 4th graders are going to be starting their weaving unit right after Spring Break, and they LOVE variety in their yarn! We are asking Hyer families to donate unused yarn they may have lying around the house!

If you need more information or you want to stay in the loop contact Ms. Munsie.
