Dear Hyer Families, 

While it may not be time to bring out the sweatshirts just yet, it’s officially fall. Looking forward to cooler weather later this week.

A big husky shout out to our fantastic Dads Club under the leadership of Wynn Radford, for a very successful Donuts with Dads and Daughters this past Thursday. Our little lady Huskies enjoyed connecting with the girls’ athletic captains from the high school. The captains represented basketball, soccer, gymnastics, water polo, track, and every sport in between. We admire and appreciate the way the high school girls are such positive role models and an inspiration to the students at Hyer and across the district.

BOOK FAIR!!

We are excited to host our Fall Book Fair and partner with Literati again this year!

Come shop, fill your bookshelves, and support Hyer. There will be an amazing selection of books and stories for all ages and genres, and we know your child will be able to discover their next favorite read this fall! Hyer students will have the opportunity to shop during the school day, and parents are invited to shop alongside their child before and after school.

The Book Fair will be in the Hyer library and will be open:

• Tuesday, 09/30: 7:30am-4:00pm
• Wednesday, 10/01: 7:30am-4:00pm
• Thursday, 10/02: 7:30am-4:00pm
• Friday, 10/03: 7:30am-12:00pm

BIKE RODEO!

Saddle up, Hyer Cowboys and Cowgirls!

Bike riding can be thrilling and fun, but being a true Rodeo Rider means knowing the rules of the road so students (and parents) can ride safely around the neighborhood.

Hyer Bike Rodeo Week, October 6th - 10th, will be filled with safety tips and feature a BMX Trick Bike Show (Tuesday, October 7th) for the entire school. Students will earn their Rodeo Rider License and get to show off their know-how as they hit the trail at the Rodeo Bike Roundup on Friday, October 10th! First through fourth grade students will saddle up for the ride. Scooters are welcome on the trail too! Preschool and kindergarten students will be our Rodeo Spectators, cheering on the riders from the sidelines.

The Bike Rodeo can’t go on without the help of our trusty parent volunteers. We will publish Class Ride Times and a Volunteer Sign Up in next week's Husky Herald! Plus our little Riders LOVE seeing their biggest fans watching them so they can wave from the trail!
