Dear ILS Members and Friends:
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I hope your day and the remainder of this special month is full of great food, fun, green beer and luck!
In this week’s Gazette we spotlight a few important initiatives and upcoming events. First, we have a call for articles for our award-winning International Law Quarterly. This premier publication provides our members with an excellent opportunity to publish an article on important topics involving international law. Please see more details below and contact our editor, Jeff Hagen, if you’re interested in submitting an article for our upcoming issue.
We also have an ILS Membership Drive! We’re not only looking to increase our Section’s membership among existing lawyers, but we have a special Law Student membership offer. For the first 50 law students who email me, the ILS is extending a complimentary one-year membership to them. If you’re a law student or know a law student who is interested in becoming an ILS member, please have them reach out to me to receive this valuable benefit and become involved in our Section!
We also have an important Committee Spotlight brought to you by Carlos Osorio, Chair of our Legislative Committee. He provides a summary of an important initiative and win for our Section and the State of Florida on litigation funding that we approved at our last Executive Council meeting.
Finally, our next ILS Lunch & Learn is scheduled for April 3 at Fiduciary Trust International and will feature our ILS Past Chair and Founding Partner of Sequor Law, Edward Davis, Jr. We’re looking forward to seeing him and another ILS Past Chair, James Meyer, engage in a lively discussion about Ed’s journey as an international lawyer as well as the history and progress of our Section over the years. You won’t want to miss it! Please see the details below and be sure to rsvp. Space is limited!
Have a great and lucky week!
Cheers,
