Section News

ILS Chair's News & Notes

Dear colleagues and friends,

I want to begin by encouraging all eligible members in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit to vote in the special runoff election for Seat 5 on The Florida Bar Board of Governors. Our own past Chair, Bob Becerra, is in the runoff, and I hope you will join me in supporting him. Bob has been a dedicated leader and tireless supporter of our Section, and I know he would serve the Bar and represent our interests with distinction. Please take a moment to cast your vote.

We are also pleased to announce that the Section will host a Lunch & Learn on April 15, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Sequor Law. The program will be moderated by Ed Davis and will feature Emilio Garcia Silvero, Chief Legal and Compliance Officer of FIFA. This promises to be an outstanding discussion. There are limited spaces, so please RSVP to Whitney Jobson (wjobson@floridabar.org) to reserve your spot.

Lastly, please remember to register for our Membership Drive Cocktail on April 9, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at Caffe Abracci in Coral Gables. This event is a great opportunity not only to reconnect with friends and colleagues, but also to introduce prospective members to the Section and encourage deeper involvement in all that we are building together. If you are already a member, I hope you will come out, bring a colleague, and help us make this event a success. Please register here.

I hope to see many of you at Caffe Abracci on April 9.

Un abrazo,

Cristina Vicens Beard
