Cohort 11: A New Cohort, A Shared Journey

Ignite Bermuda officially welcomed Cohort 11 with a two-day Bootcamp held on Wednesday, July 1 and Thursday, July 2 in the Discovery Room at the Rosebank Centre. The event provided entrepreneurs with a strong foundation as they embarked on their Ignite journey.

Participants took part in interactive sessions covering Mindset, Customer Discovery, Value Proposition, and Pitching, gaining practical tools to refine their business ideas, better understand their customers, and prepare for the months ahead.

Congratulations to our Bootcamp Pitch Competition finalists, Jasmine DeBraga and Camille Creary, whose presentations demonstrated creativity and a clear understanding of their business concepts.

We extend our sincere thanks to our volunteer expert panel, Giles Belfrage, Jen Ward, and Brittany Outerbridge, for joining us to outline the complimentary support they're each offering this cohort. Their generosity gives participants direct access to practical expertise as they strengthen key business skills and build confidence at the start of the programme.

We are also grateful to our guest pitch judges Bradley Molitor (Athene), Eric Ratnayake (Athene), Sidley Carswell Sanna (Prudential), Sophie Campeau (Cripps Foundation), and Charmaine Tucker (Lombard Odier) for providing thoughtful feedback and encouragement that challenged participants to refine their ideas and presentations.

The Fuel Your Ambition Series officially launched on Wednesday, July 8, extending Ignite's support to early-stage entrepreneurs through a virtual programme focused on building confidence, strengthening business fundamentals, and preparing participants for future growth.

As Cohort 11 begins its journey, we look forward to seeing these entrepreneurs connect, collaborate, and learn from one another over the coming months. We are excited to support them as they refine their ideas, overcome challenges, and build businesses that contribute to Bermuda's entrepreneurial ecosystem.

What If Every Entrepreneur Had a Business Coach?

The challenge? Access to quality guidance often depends on who you know, what you can afford, or whether the right person is available when you need them.

The solution? 24/7 access to Bermuda-specific support. That's why we built Spark AI.

Spark is Ignite Bermuda's locally informed AI business coach, designed to give entrepreneurs on-demand support, practical guidance, and access to resources tailored to Bermuda's business environment.

In its beta phase, Spark can help with:

  • Real-time business guidance
  • Curated resources relevant to Bermuda
  • Personalised recommendations based on your goals and business stage
  • Connections to Ignite Bermuda's Fuel and Core Programmes

We've been testing Spark with select groups, including the BEDC team, and the response has been encouraging.

This is just the start. Our vision is simple: make quality business support more accessible to every entrepreneur in Bermuda.

We're building Spark with our community, and we'd love your feedback.

Celebrating Ignite Founder - Lauren Anders Brown

We were delighted to surprise Lauren Anders-Brown, founder of PadsPass® Pet Travel App + ID. with the Stellar Award, recognising her continued contribution to the Ignite community since her time in the Ignite Programme. This award honours Ignite’s Support Person of the Year, someone whose behind-the-scenes contributions make a meaningful difference to how we operate and grow. It's a reminder that giving back is often what keeps a community like ours moving forward.

Congratulations, Lauren! We’re proud to be part of your journey!

Making Business Ownership More Accessible

We are excited to share Bermuda Business Services ISAC Ltd. (“BBS”), an exciting new initiative developed in collaboration with Walkers that is directly tied to Bermuda's National Entrepreneurship Blueprint (2026–2030).

BBS is a low-cost incorporation platform designed to make the incorporation process simpler, faster, and more affordable for Bermuda's entrepreneurs. With an estimated 80%+ of local entrepreneurs currently operating unincorporated, BBS aims to change that - helping business owners protect themselves personally while unlocking the ability to pursue future growth opportunities. We are currently in an early beta phase with a select group of Ignite Core alumni, with broader access rolling out in the coming months.

For those interested in learning more, we invite you to visit the BBS website at www.bbsplatform.com and stay tuned for updates as we move toward a full public launch.

Looking Ahead: Shaping Ignite's Future

As Ignite Bermuda continues to grow, so does our vision for the future. Our Board and leadership team are in the process of finalizing Ignite's strategic plan, building on the strong foundations established over the past seven years and ensuring we continue to meet the evolving needs of Bermuda's entrepreneurs.

Since launching in 2019, Ignite has supported more than 600 entrepreneurial leaders, strengthened Bermuda's entrepreneurial ecosystem, and developed programmes that continue to evolve alongside the needs of our community. As demand for entrepreneurship grows, our focus remains on expanding access, strengthening partnerships, embracing innovation, and ensuring Ignite remains a sustainable resource for future generations of founders.

The next chapter for Ignite will build on entrepreneurial leadership, practical support, and a collaborative community, while exploring new opportunities to expand our impact through technology, stronger alumni engagement, financial sustainability, and innovative programmes that help more entrepreneurs thrive.

We look forward to sharing our journey as it unfolds.
