Cohort 9 Recruitiment and On-Boarding

We were oversubscribed by 221% for Cohort 9! Entrepreneurs from a variety of industries including health innovation, and the blue ocean sector, showed their interest in joining our Accelerator programme.

Our team launched a recruitment campaign that reached potential applicants through multiple channels including social media testimonials from past participants, radio interviews, live Q&A sessions on Instagram, and an Open House event on October 2nd 2024.

Cohort 9's virtual Primer took place on Wednesday, December 4th from 12-2pm on Zoom. It was great to meet the new cohort and be part of the energy that comes with starting a new programme. To listen to the podcast, please click here.

Bootcamp will kick off on January 8th and 9th, 2025 in the Spirit of Bermuda Boardroom, The Argus Building. We look forward to the journey ahead and the innovation these entrepreneurs will bring to Bermuda.

Re-Ignite: Future Forward (Non)-Conference

On October 18, 2024, nearly 100 entrepreneurs, community leaders, and sponsors gathered at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess for the Re-Ignite 2024 Non-Conference. The event featured inspiring insights, hands-on workshops, and networking opportunities to equip Bermuda’s entrepreneurial leaders for the future.

Highlights:

AI in Business: Shira Jatto from One Communications demonstrated how AI streamlines operations for future success.
Ignite alumni Priya Suagh and Zarinah Codrington shared how AI can be a game-changer for entrepreneurs—along with a few pitfalls to watch out for
Resilience & Growth: Executive Director Sean Reel encouraged adaptability and reflection for long-term success.
Mental Health: Dr. Jana Outerbridge highlighted psychological safety as essential for strong leadership and business resilience.
Community & Collaboration: Alumni Patrina Paynter and Alexandra Moscher emphasized the power of mentorship, collaboration, and strong networks for shared success.
Leadership Keynote: Amrita Bhalla underscored the role of leadership and community in scaling businesses.

Laura Lyons closed with an important message: “The fire you start is a lighthouse, guiding others with hope.”

Co-lab Update

The Co-lab celebrated Thanksgiving in style with a special lunch on Thursday, November 28th. The luncheon brought together tenants and special guests for a festive potluck-style feast, where everyone contributed to a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Adding an extra touch of excitement, Milton Raposo treated everyone to a sneak peek of his latest film, which was met with great enthusiasm.

To make the celebration even more memorable, we had the joy of welcoming a new baby, spreading smiles all around. Each guest was invited to take part in a fun holiday tradition by pulling a Christmas cracker, filling the afternoon with laughter and cheer. It was truly a heartwarming celebration for all!
