A big thank you to McGuckin Hardware and everyone who rounded up at the register July 17–26 to support Imagine! Small contributions added together can create meaningful opportunities across our community, and we’re grateful to McGuckin for making it so easy for customers to take part.

A Note From Jodi

August is a good reminder that community is something we create together.

You can see that in the moments captured above, in the progress happening across Imagine!, and in the conversations shaping what comes next. Some of those conversations are exciting. Others, particularly those happening around Medicaid and disability policy, can feel complicated or uncertain.

Through all of it, I want Imagine! to be a place where people can find good information, ask questions, share what matters to them, and stay connected.

You'll see that spirit throughout this month's Pulse. We're celebrating progress, looking ahead, and inviting you into the conversation. I hope you'll take a few minutes to explore what's happening and, even more importantly, find a way to join in.

Thank you for being part of the Imagine! community.

Make Your Giving Go Further

Have you heard of a donor advised fund, or DAF? It’s a charitable giving account that can offer a flexible way to organize your giving, plan charitable gifts over time, and support the causes that matter most to you.

And despite a common misconception, DAFs aren't only for ultra-high-net-worth families.

“Donor advised funds can be a flexible charitable giving tool for many people who want to simplify their philanthropy, organize their giving, and support causes they care about over time.”
Andrew Christie
Imagine! Foundation Board Chairman and Private Wealth Advisor

With DAF Day coming October 8, Andrew helped us break down how donor advised funds work, some of their potential benefits, and why they may be worth considering as part of your charitable giving.

Already have a DAF?

Consider recommending a grant to the Imagine! Foundation and help create more opportunities for people to build lives filled with belonging, purpose, and possibility.

The Doors Are Almost Open at The Grove

landscape photo of the Grove Community

On September 2, the first residents will begin moving into 40 new, permanently affordable homes at  The Grove at Cottonwood.

But The Grove is about more than adding apartments. The neuro-inclusive community was intentionally designed to make independence, accessibility, connection, and belonging part of the plan from the beginning, creating more options for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to choose where and how they want to live.

That includes on-site Resident Services Concierge! They will help residents connect with one another, navigate community resources and services, participate in activities, build routines, and find supports and opportunities based on their individual goals and needs.

And Imagine! gets to be part of making that possibility real.

As a referral and service partner, Imagine! is helping connect people with this new housing opportunity and can continue supporting residents after they move in, based on what each person wants and needs to make their new home work for their life. Imagine! will also work with The Grove’s Resident Services Concierge to help residents connect with services, programs, and opportunities in the broader community.

Opening a front door is exciting. Having more choice about the life on the other side is the bigger story.

Interested in making The Grove home? If you’re connected with Imagine!, contact Sarah Smith or call our main number 303-665-7789 and ask to speak with Sarah.

Not currently connected with Imagine!? You can also join The Grove’s interest list directly by clicking here and filling out the online form.

Your Voice Matters

Big Conversations. Bring Your Questions.

There is a lot happening in disability policy right now, and separating what is actually happening from what might happen isn't always easy.

On August 27, Imagine! is bringing our community together to talk about three issues we're watching closely: Olmstead, PETI, and Colorado's Medicaid Commission.

Our goal is simple: separate fact from speculation, explain what is changing (and what isn’t), and make space for honest questions and conversation.

What do you want to know? What have you heard? What's confusing? What should we unpack together?

RSVP below to join the session. Once you register, you'll receive everything you need to participate, including the location, virtual meeting link, and details on how to submit your questions in advance.

Stories of Impact

Help Us Find the Stories Worth Sharing ❤️

Impact doesn't always arrive with a spotlight.

Sometimes it's someone starting a new job. A skill that finally clicks. A friendship taking root. An employee finding a creative solution. A family celebrating a milestone. A volunteer or community partner showing up in a way that changes someone's day.

Those are the stories we want to hear.

If you've seen a moment that made you think, this is what Imagine! is about, tell us.

Stories can come from anywhere in the Imagine! community, including people receiving services, families and caregivers, employees, volunteers, donors, employers, and community partners.

You don't need to write the story for us. Just tell us enough to help us find it.

Heard Around Imagine! 💬

“I love my job. It gives me purpose.”

One of our School Age Services counselors recently shared those words while talking with a coworker.

A child nearby overheard the conversation, smiled, and replied: “I want to work here too!”

Sometimes the smallest moments say the most.

Every day, our staff make an impact that extends far beyond the services we provide.

Want to be part of what happens here? Imagine! is always looking for people who bring curiosity, compassion, creativity, and their own talents to our community.
