Individual Giving Drives Giving Increase

Giving USA is an essential resource in tracking charitable giving in the United States. The report identifies trends, provides data, and illustrates how individuals, corporations and foundations engage to make communities better.

Individual giving rose $10.53 billion to an all time high. All nine major philanthropy subsectors realized giving increases for only the sixth time in the last four decades. Over $390 billion was contributed to U.S. charities in 2016, according to the recently released Giving USA 2017: The Annual Report on Philanthropy for the Year 2016.

Visit CDW's Learning Lab to access the 2017 release of the Giving USA Annual Report for free. The report package includes:

  • Annual Survey of State Laws Regulating Charitable Solicitations
  • Giving USA 2017 PowerPoint
  • Giving USA 2017 Graph Pack

When community members commit to financially support a cause, the result is an enhanced capacity for charitable groups to bring about change. Nonprofits can seek to help citizens, young and old, to better understand their role in giving and its importance in the ability of nonprofits to continue to provide necessary services within communities. CDW's Learning Lab and eLibrary offer a wide range of best practice resources and toolkits on how to get started or to enhance current efforts. These are just a couple of options that are available.
