IDENTITIES CONCEALED FOR SECURITY PURPOSES

The Impact of Graduation Ceremonies on the Local Church

Greetings Ministry Partners,

In the past, we did not pay much attention to where or when graduation ceremonies were held, as long as the timing and location were most convenient for the teachers and students. However, we now recognize that holding the graduation ceremony right in the church during the Sunday morning worship service has a profoundly positive impact on the congregation, ministry workers, and even the families of the graduates. On April 6th, for the first time, we held the graduation ceremony in the church. Although it was difficult for some teachers to attend due to their responsibilities in their own churches, combining the graduation with Sunday worship and having many teachers present brought great benefits to both the graduates and the local believers.

First, this practice affirms that these workers have been thoroughly trained to lead and guide others. It fosters recognition from the faith community and a sense of collective support, motivating them to live and teach God’s Word faithfully (1 Timothy 4:16). When believers see that their leaders have been equipped with serious training, they feel more confident in following their guidance and collaborating more effectively in ministry programs.

Second, it demonstrates their faithfulness in learning. This encourages those who may have dropped out of training or inspires them to pursue further study with greater zeal.

Third, the graduates become role models of lifelong learning for their families and children. This fosters understanding and partnership in ministry, leading to spiritual support and prayer for their calling. Their children and relatives are inspired to live out their faith earnestly and may even pursue spiritual callings in the future.

Fourth, it reaffirms their calling and commitment to serve. It serves as a reminder that their studies are not merely for knowledge but to prepare for the ministry to which God has called them (2 Timothy 2:15). It strengthens their sense of responsibility and dedication.

Additionally, it carries significant pastoral meaning. The graduation ceremony is like a commissioning, entrusting them with ministry and shepherding responsibilities. When we invited them to kneel and called the church to intercede for them, it created a deeply solemn atmosphere. Some graduates expressed gratitude to their families, spouses, children, and fellow believers who had prayed for and supported their studies, resulting in deeply moving moments unlike any before.

Praying over the graduates and a touching moment when a graduate honored his wife in gratitude for her sacrifices during his two years of study

Thank you for your prayers and support,

New Class

On April 8, Pastor M launched a new class for Hmong-speaking students. The new trainees included six pastors and five church leaders, totaling 11 new participants.

CCI New Class

Classes

On April 3-4, I visited central Vietnam to spend time with the class there and encourage the students. This class is jointly organized by four different churches. I met with the overseeing pastors to share breakfast, coffee, and fellowship together.

Below are photos of some of the current classes being held in Vietnam.

Graduations

In April, there were three graduation ceremonies. Two graduations were held on weekdays, resulting in limited attendance from graduates’ families and church members. However, one ceremony was held on a Sunday, allowing full participation from both families and congregation members.

Training

Pastor Thu taught God's Financial Principles (GFP) seminar in southern Vietnam on March 31 and April 1.

I taught GFP on April 8-9 and Love & Biblical Dating (part 2) on April 27.

Testimonies

Testimony from a CCI Student

“I am grateful to the Lord for the opportunity to study with CCI. After one year of study, our class has completed the sixth course (Personal Spiritual Life). This course has challenged me to live and serve according to God’s will. As a servant, listening to and following the Master’s call is essential for effective ministry. Personal spiritual growth must go hand in hand with a life of peace and healthy relationships with others. It means learning how to navigate personal dry seasons and resolving conflicts while serving fellow believers. The path of spiritual growth must be walked alongside cultivating meaningful relationships with other believers.”

GFP Participant's Testimony

"Having believed in the Lord for decades, this is the first time I've studied biblical finance in such a systematic and detailed way, far beyond what I expected. This course has taught me to understand God's will regarding spending, saving, work, giving, honesty, and much more.

Studying this course has deepened my love for God's Word, because I never realized how richly the Bible speaks into so many areas of life. I used to neglect rest due to overworking and lacked understanding about giving. But this course has challenged me to create a better financial plan while remaining faithful in my giving."
