The Importance of a Good Support System
A deck support post should sit entirely on top of a solid concrete pier.
The footing must extend below the frost line which in our area is 42 inches.
There is no way of knowing if this 4x4 support post has any solid concrete beneath or if it extends below the frost line. Further investigation is needed as was stated in the report this client received.
