The IncuHub Celebrates Being Awarded Best Coworking Space on the Peninsula & Southside

Earlier this year, we announced that The IncuHub was recognized as Best Coworking Space on the Peninsula AND Best Coworking Space on the Southside in the CoVaBIZ Best of Business Awards.

We had the opportunity to celebrate along with other award winners at two celebrations hosted by Coastal Virginia Magazine and CoVaBIZ Magazine. On the evening of July 17, we attended the Peninsula celebration at the the Newport News Marriott at City Center, and on the evening of July 24, we attended the Southside celebration at the Founders' Inn & Spa in Virginia Beach.

We want to extend another huge thank you to our Members, friends, and supporters for voting for us for this recognition and confirming what we and our members already know - that we are truly the best coworking option in the Hampton Roads region. Thank you!

The IncuHub's Hampton Location Sees Continued Growth

July has been a big month for The IncuHub in Hampton, which saw a significant increase in members during the past month. We have now officially reached 80 members!

The word has truly gotten out throughout the Peninsula and region: our space is professional, inviting, and affordable, with an amazing, diverse community of business owners, all located in the heart of Downtown Hampton.

We're thrilled that we get to continue to welcome new members, and appreciate everyone in our community for helping spread the word that The IncuHub is the place to be to start and grow your business.

We look forward to continued growth at both locations and to welcoming the growing number of entrepreneurs to our community.

Member Spotlight: Unique Cleaning Service Inc.

Founded 29 years ago as a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Unique Cleaning Service Inc. (UCSI) is the epitome of an IncuHub business success story. Chief Operating Officer Julius Del Campo joined The IncuHub in Portsmouth as one of our original members in 2019. With only modest expectations at the time, Julius started his IncuHub membership with a Shared Desk as he worked to grow the company.

And grow, it did indeed. USCI provides facilities maintenance and consolidated services to the Federal Government, and under Julius’ leadership, it has grown considerably in the past six years, serving an array of Federal agencies, including the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Federal Aviation Administration, Transportation Security Administration, and National Park Service. Due to the growth and success of the business, utilizing a Shared Desk was no longer sufficient for Julius’s needs. He quickly upgraded to a Dedicated Desk, and ultimately a private office. Today, Julius and USCI President & CEO Maximiliano (Max) Pino occupy one of the largest private offices at The IncuHub’s Portsmouth location.

USCI is unique for a number of reasons. They stand out by customizing quality control programs and implement strong project management structures for every client. By emphasizing quality control and staying up-to-date on technological advancements, USCI is able to better serve its clients. They truly possess the expertise and experience to elevate the image and provide outstanding care for the facilities they serve. In addition to delivering quality service, the USCI Team has extensive experience managing and maintaining large contracts.

Julius and Max are familiar faces at The IncuHub and - even with the demands of managing a large, complex business - they make it a priority to contribute to The IncuHub community, regularly attending events and making themselves available to provide support, advice, and guidance to other businesses housed at The IncuHub. We are thrilled to have them in our community - almost since the day we opened our doors - and we look forward to having them here, as well as to their continued success, for many years to come.

Student Interns Continue to Gain Hands On Experience In Portsmouth

The Portsmouth Public Schools Internship Program has been a huge success, with eleven Portsmouth High School students working at The IncuHub and supporting several of our member businesses during the past several weeks.

The students have been treated to a variety of guest speakers from the community, including City Manager Steven Carter, Commissioner of the Revenue Frankie Edmondson, Police Chief Stephen Jenkins, Fairlead President & CEO Fred Pasquine, Communities in Schools Executive Director Hope Sinclair, and The IncuHub's own Marko Frigelj. For their final week, the students will have the opportunity to meet with Mayor Shannon Glover and will be treated to a celebratory lunch.

The students are also gearing up to give their final presentations to present the projects they have worked on throughout the summer.

The IncuHub and our members businesses are thrilled to have been a part of this program and look forward to the continued successes our interns will experience as they finish high school and enter college or start their careers. Congratulations to all the interns!
