Events in Hampton Showcase The IncuHub's Commitment to the Community

The IncuHub was proud to host or participate in several events in Hampton during the past month that demonstrate our commitment to the local community.

We were thrilled to partner with the Hampton Department of Economic Development to host a very successful Business Resource Fair and Open House at the Hampton History Museum. Approximately 50 guests - mostly local business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs - had the opportunity to meet representatives from organizations that support local businesses, participate in engaging workshops, and enjoy a special welcome from Vice Mayor Steven Brown and City Manager Mary Bunting. We're grateful to the Hampton Economic Development Team for their partnership on this incredibly successful event.

We were also proud to partner with the Virginia Peninsula Chamber of Commerce to host a Business Connection After Hours Reception at the Hampton IncuHub, where guests enjoyed appetizers, cocktails, and the opportunity to network.

We were also featured as an exhibitor at the annual Black Diamond Weekend, hosted by Black BRAND. Billed as the largest black business conference in Virginia, this year's event took place at the Hampton Roads Convention Center and welcomed government and community leaders, entrepreneurs, and members of the business community, not only from Hampton Roads, but from across the Commonwealth.

We're grateful to all of the organizations we've had the opportunity to partner with and are thrilled to have the opportunity to support the local business community and contribute to our region's dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem through events such as these.

Member Spotlight: Ricky McCleod Sr., Voda Cleaning & Restoration

IncuHub - Portsmouth member Ricky McCleod Sr. started Voda Cleaning and Restoration of Hampton Roads on in August 2025. Ricky is a husband and father of four, and made Hampton Roads his home in 1994. As if owning and managing a rapidly growing cleaning business isn't enough, Ricky also has over 21 years of experience as a firefighter and currently serves as Captain for the Portsmouth Fire Department.

With Voda, his new family owned business, he and his Team are prepared to serve customers on a whole new level.

Voda provides comprehensive cleaning and restoration services to both residential and commercial customers. Services include fire and smoke damage, mold and mildew removal, water and storm damage, sewer and biohazard services, carpets and floors, tile and grout, upholstery, odors, and more!

Voda prides itself on providing a seamless sophisticated experience with an eye for detail and professional technicians who use safe and proven methods. In their short time in operation, they have already demonstrated some amazing results and are building a following of satisfied, loyal customers.

As Ricky was preparing to launch his business, he met The IncuHub Team at an event hosted by the Portsmouth Economic Development Department at Tidewater Community College earlier this year. This meeting led Ricky to choose The IncuHub in Portsmouth as his business's home and headquarters when they officially launched in August.
