Happy Spring!

I am so excited to announce that I have accepted a position working for the Baltimore Ravens this summer. I will be helping with fan engagement & events for training camp. I truly couldn't be more blessed with this opportunity. It has been a lifelong dream of mine to work for any sort of football program. Now getting the chance to experience football at the D1 level and NFL is amazing and I cannot wait to be apart of such an incredible organization and learn from some of the best.

I’m incredibly grateful for the support and connections TPGF has provided me. I’m also thrilled that planning for TPGF Golf 2025 is underway.

Marci Doyle 

Featured this month is a very special woman who has a sports marketing/management resume that is good as they get ! Marci Doyle, U of Florida Gators has spent her life in sports growing up as an athlete in a Baseball Family with Father Denny playing 2nd base for the Phillies, Angels, and Red Sox (yes, he’s the runner on 3rd base in the 1975 World Series when Carlton Fisk hit his HR to send the Series to Game 7!! Watch the ESPN highlight video!) 

Additionally her uncle Brian played 2nd base for the Yankees while uncle Blake was in the Orioles and Reds organization and later coached for the Colorado Rockies. 

Career wise Marci is currently on a “career hiatus” (minimum of one year, may be longer!), stepping away from a day job to spend true quality time with loved ones, travel, and listening for what God has in store for her next 

 Before her ‘career hiatus’ she served  as Executive Vice President of Outlyr where she managed several of Outlyr’s ten (10) owned/operated professional golf tournaments, as well as part of the Outlyr business development team consulting sports sponsorship portfolios for major brands and corporation 

Doyle has worked in several various marketing and business development roles over the last 25 years being with Arnold Palmer’s companies for 12 years, ultimately serving as Chief Operating Officer and Tournament Director overseeing the Arnold Palmer Invitational, API Junior, Arnold Palmer Cup, while working closely with their Foundation, licensing division and Clubs.

 Just prior to joining the Invitational, Doyle served for three years as Managing Director of Consumer and Partner Promotions at the Golf Channel, developing marketing solutions to build and enhance national client relationships with companies such as Dick’s Sporting Goods and Under Armour.

 Doyle spent eight years as Account Director with Chicago’s event marketing firm Wunderman, a division of Young & Rubicam. While there she built strategic marketing plans and partnerships for household brands including Callaway Golf, Burger King, Ford, Sears, Microsoft Xbox, Unilever and the Miller Brewing Company. Marketing solutions included alliances with ABC’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition, top musicians (i.e. Green Day, Sheryl Crow, Christina Aguilera), national packaged goods promotions, and sponsorships of MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL, NASCAR, AVP and teams around the country.

 Doyle started her career in sports and entertainment at global sports marketing firm DW+A managing sponsorships and operations for multiple sporting events including seven LPGA tournaments, where she served as co-Tournament Director of LPGA’s Sacramento Twelve Bridges Classic at the age of 24. She also managed partnerships with the USVBA (US Volleyball) and USFSA (US Figure Skating), as well as NFL, college basketball, and PGA TOUR.

Marci is a ‘one of kind’ person who brings joy to all those who know/work with her. Thanks Marci, for being part of TPGF ! 

Kensie Cricchio 

Hope everyone enjoyed Easter weekend! My name is Kensie Cricchio and I played tennis for William and Mary and graduating in January as a marketing major. A move to Nashville in August to start my Masters in Marketing at Vanderbilt is the Plan now. From Gainesville, Florida, grew up going to Gator games with my dad, which was the start of a passion for sports. Currently, looking for an internship in sports this summer or next and to connect with people to discuss their career paths as I take my first steps in my early career path. 

Currently doing an internship at The Community Foundation as a marketing intern assisting with marketing campaigns, scholarships, annual report design, gala organization, and working with sponsors. 

Very thankful to Foundation Fellow Avery Weissman for introducing me to Del and The Perfect Game Foundation. Del has been so inviting and helpful as I begin my journey into my early career. I am excited to be apart of a sports community and for all the opportunities that it will bring. 

Hello. My name is Ben Hoffman, and I am an eighteen-year-old senior at Yorktown High School. In my last byline, I discussed the NBA trade deadline and the teams who won and lost. Currently, the Lakers and the Cavaliers have won the trade deadline and the Dallas Mavericks have entirely lost the deadline as their new star player Anthony Davis has only played one game while Luka Doncic has been destroying the league with the Lakers. For this byline, I will be talking about the MLB spring training and what may be dangerous this season.

Spring training has been rather more exciting than usual. We’ve gotten to see new players on new teams, and new players who are becoming more exciting to watch. For example, Colorado Rockies relief pitcher Jefry Yan has become a solid relief pitcher with not only great pitching but amazing energy for the team with his energetic celebration after every strikeout he gets. Another exciting player is the Baltimore Orioles' top prospect Samuel Basallo. Although he isn't as electric as Yan, he’s showing himself as a big hitter as he hit a 500-foot home run a few weeks ago against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Looking away from exciting players right now, some teams are looking to show up for this upcoming season. One team to look out for is the Blue Jays as they had a good preseason signing Anthony Santander and Max Scherzer. Although Scherzer is over 40 years old, he still has a lot of gas left in the tank. Another team is the Kansas City Royals. The Royals already have amazing starting pitchers like Seth Lugo and Cole Ragans, but they also have amazing players like Bobby Witt Jr and Salvador Perez who both have been hitting well for them.

Opening day is just around the corner, but the only problem with that is March Madness is on the way. Thankfully, most MLB games will be played early afternoon, while the good games for March Madness will probably be played during the evening. For this MLB season, who do you think will be the best team in the league, what team will be a dark horse?

Rory Mcilroy Completes Golf Grand Slam

Rory Mcilroy achieved a historic milestone in April 2025 by winning the Masters Tournament, completing the career Grand Slam and joining an elite group of golfers who have won all four major championships. This victory marked his first major title since 2014.

Mcilroy’s journey to victory was marked by a decade-long pursuit of the elusive green jacket. Despite his success in other majors, including the U.S. Open, Open CHampionship, and PGA Championship, the Masters had remained a significant challenge. In the 2025 Masters, he entered the final round with a two-stroke lead over Justin Rose. After a tense back nine, Rose forced a playoff by birdieing six of his last eight holes. In the sudden death playoff, Mcilroy secured victory with a birdie on the first hole, Clinching his first Masters win and completing the Grand Slam. 

This win was the culmination of a remarkable career. Mcilryo’s first major victory came in 2011 at the U.S. Open, followed by the PGA in 2012 and the Open in 2014. His 2014 PGA Championship win was particularly notable for its dramatic finish. However, after 2014, Mcilroy faced challenges in major tournaments, often finishing as a runner-up or falling short in critical moments. His resilience and determination were evident as he continued to compete at the highest level, eventually leading to his 2025 Masters victory. 

What a lot of people might not know is that leading up to his win, Mcilroy had quietly made big changes behind the scenes. He started working with a mental coach in 2023 to help him shift his mindset under pressure, No big public declarations – just a quiet inward process of getting back to the mindset that won him four majors by his mid-20’s. On top of that, what flew under the radar was how much Rory’s short game had improved. For years, that was his Achillies heel – people always talked about his ball-striking, the pure power and rhythm off the tee, but whispered doubts about whether his touch around the green could ever match. Up until the final playoff round it looked to be that way with Rory missing a four-foot par to win the tournament in the 18th hole but ultimately, he redeemed himself by sinking a three-foot birdie to cap off history.

This is a beautiful pool that I found on a night walk on vacation. I love the way that the pool is lit up by the lights inside the pool, and how vibrant the blue of the pool is. I also like the water in the background, and how it is lit up. I took this picture  on my iPhone 14, and used the night mode setting. 

This is a picture I took down an outdoor hallway to a nice opening. I wanted to use leading lines to add a nice effect to the image. I took this at a restaurant on my spring break with my iPhone 14.

This was a nice sunset at the same restaurant as it was winding down. I like the array of colors that can be seen at the sky and how calming this sunset is. I believe I turned down the exposure a small amount to bring out the color of the sunset more. I took this on my iPhone 14 as well.
