Happy March! I just got back from a spring break trip in Banff, Canada which was a blast! Now I am back into the swing of things for this semester at Ole Miss. I am still in the process of applying to internships within the sports industry for summer to gain experience and create more relationships all around the country. Most of my time recently is being spent on interviews and job applications which has been such a great learning experience. Grateful for all of the help and connections TPGF has provided me with for potential opportunities.

Spring practices start up this week which we are all getting very excited for! I am so blessed to have the job that I do in Football Recruiting and to be able to be mentored by so many amazing women in the industry.

Excited that TPGF Golf 2025 planning has begun and hope to see you at TPC Potomac on July 14 for TPGF Golf Tournament # 13! Sending everyone good wishes for the opportunities that lie ahead of us in March!

This season at Monumental Sports has gone by so quickly! As the season comes to a close, I am in the process of searching for a new job, as my time with Monumental Sports and Entertainment will be ending. I've truly enjoyed my time here and gained invaluable experience in my partnerships role. This month has been especially busy, with me assisting with partner dinners, game night experiences, and creating recaps for our partners. To wrap up the month, I'll have the opportunity to shadow the game presentation team and get an inside look at how an NBA game is run!

Looking forward to TPGF Golf Tournament # 13 on July 14 at TPC Potomac! This will be my second one with the Foundation and this year I’ll be handling Tournament Director responsibilities. Hope to see you there !

Through the help of The Perfect Game Foundation, I have been able to access multiple different internships throughout the sports industry. Being involved with Nationals Play-By-Play broadcaster Bob Carpenter allowed me to see a small glimpse into what it is like to be in the sports industry.

 Following that, I was able to obtain an internship with my school, Molloy University, in which I was obtain an internship in the game day operations department. Without the help of The Perfect Game Foundation I would not be able to achieve what I have so far in obtaining multiple different internships and a possibility within the sports industry, I’ve been able to see how wide the reach of sports is and how appreciative so many different fans are of national and local teams.

As I continue to grow my career in sports, Del and The Perfect Game Foundation have remained a constant source of support and guidance. After starting with the Dodgers in Global Partnerships, I transitioned to Legends, where I have honed my ability to identify and drive new business opportunities, build strategic relationships, and adapt in a fast-paced, ever-evolving industry.

For young professionals looking to break into the sports industry, my biggest advice is to be proactive in building relationships and seeking out mentors who will invest in your development. When interviewing for roles, look for leaders who prioritize growth and are willing to put in the time to challenge and support you. I’ve been fortunate to experience this firsthand at Legends, where I have refined my expertise in managing business pipelines, fostering collaboration with internal stakeholders, and navigating ambiguity in a high-pressure environment. These experiences have strengthened my ability to drive results, think strategically, and thrive in the dynamic world of sports business.

With a foundation built on strong networking, business acumen, and adaptability, I am excited to continue growing and contributing to the sports industry. The support from The Perfect Game Foundation has been instrumental in my journey, and I look forward to building relationships with those who share the same passion for innovation and excellence in sports.

Hello. My name is Ben Hoffman, and I am an eighteen-year-old senior at Yorktown High School. In my last byline, I discussed the NBA trade deadline and the teams who won and lost. Currently, the Lakers and the Cavaliers have won the trade deadline and the Dallas Mavericks have entirely lost the deadline as their new star player Anthony Davis has only played one game while Luka Doncic has been destroying the league with the Lakers. For this byline, I will be talking about the MLB spring training and what may be dangerous this season.

Spring training has been rather more exciting than usual. We’ve gotten to see new players on new teams, and new players who are becoming more exciting to watch. For example, Colorado Rockies relief pitcher Jefry Yan has become a solid relief pitcher with not only great pitching but amazing energy for the team with his energetic celebration after every strikeout he gets. Another exciting player is the Baltimore Orioles' top prospect Samuel Basallo. Although he isn't as electric as Yan, he’s showing himself as a big hitter as he hit a 500-foot home run a few weeks ago against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Looking away from exciting players right now, some teams are looking to show up for this upcoming season. One team to look out for is the Blue Jays as they had a good preseason signing Anthony Santander and Max Scherzer. Although Scherzer is over 40 years old, he still has a lot of gas left in the tank. Another team is the Kansas City Royals. The Royals already have amazing starting pitchers like Seth Lugo and Cole Ragans, but they also have amazing players like Bobby Witt Jr and Salvador Perez who both have been hitting well for them.

Opening day is just around the corner, but the only problem with that is March Madness is on the way. Thankfully, most MLB games will be played early afternoon, while the good games for March Madness will probably be played during the evening. For this MLB season, who do you think will be the best team in the league, what team will be a dark horse?

Ovechkin Chases History

Alexander Ovechkin is on the verge of rewriting history, and the entire hockey world is watching. For nearly two decades, he has been the face of the Washington Capitals, a relentless goal scorer whose passion and physical style have made him one of the most electrifying players the NHL has ever seen. Now, at 887 career goals as of March 2025, he stands just eight goals away from surpassing Wayne Gretzky’s legendary record of 894—something once thought impossible.

At 39 years old, Ovechkin is defying time. Most players his age are either slowing down or retired, but he’s still hammering pucks into the net with the same fire he had as a rookie. This season alone, he has racked up 33 goals in 48 games, proving that his scoring touch hasn’t faded. Whether it’s his signature one-timer from the left circle, a deflection in front, or a gritty rebound goal, he finds ways to score—because that’s what he’s always done. He doesn’t just play the game; he bulldozes through it, never backing down, always hungry for the next one.

The anticipation surrounding his record chase is building with every game. Gretzky himself has said he plans to be there when Ovechkin inevitably breaks the mark, a sign of respect from the greatest to ever do it. Fans, and players alike are all waiting for that historic moment when Ovechkin’s name sits at the very top of the all-time goal-scoring list.



But beyond the numbers, beyond the milestones, Ovechkin’s legacy is something more. He’s a player who has never lost his love for the game, who still celebrates goals with the joy of a kid on a backyard rink. Whether you’re a Capitals fan or not, it’s impossible not to root for him. Because what he’s doing isn’t just historic—it’s special. And we may never see anything like it again.

I really like this picture because of the blurred motion of the ball. The player looks as if he is suspended in the air, which I really like as well. I am able to do this by setting my camera at a high shutter speed, which causes the shutter to open and close very fast and take more pictures in a shorter amount of time. I took this picture on my Nikon Z50 with my far zooming lens.

I like this picture because the player looks as if he is completely stopped in motion, while the ball is in motion. The player is not blurry to any extent, but the ball is, which is why I chose this picture, to represent the constant motion of basketball games. In Photoshop, I brought out the blue of the players jersey, as that color was very vibrant in the image. I took this picture on my Nikon Z50.
