EDC President Ed Bartholomew participated in this week's Capital District Regional Economic Development Council's presentation to the  Strategic Implementation Assessment Team (SIAT ) for request for funding in round 6 of the NYS Consolidated Funding Process.
  
Bartholomew provided an update and an outline of activities regarding the Glens Falls $10M Downtown Revitalization Initiative Award.  He also had an opportunity to highlight the arrival of Just Water to the region when asked about the project by Secretary of State Rossana Rosado.  Capital Region was among the 10 regional councils who presented their plan over the two day event.
 
Following projects were designated priority projects in Warren County by the Capital Region's Council including Finch Paper, Park Street Theater, Hudson Headwaters Health Network project at 90 South Street and Adirondack Brewery Lake George. Funding decision for all CFA project submittals will be in late November and early December.

"Flannels & Handles Hoedown" event on November 12th!


Swing your partner round and round at West Mountain School's First Annual "Flannels & Handles Hoedown" on Saturday, November 12th from 7 pm - 11 pm! The event benefits the West Mountain School, West Mountain's non-profit organization, which supports education through ski racing for children. Matching Flannels are highly encouraged and Handles (Mustaches) on a stick will be provided at the event. You will not want to miss this community event! We will have live music from Stones Mountain Band, line dancing demonstrations, silent auction items and more!

Price: $100 per Couple/$60 per Individual (must be over 21 to attend). Price includes a buffet dinner and two drink tickets per person of a house wine or Harpoon's "Flannels Friday" Ale. Live music by Stones Mountain Band.

T he town and village of Tupper Lake have announced the launch of the new Tupper Lake brand, a unique image and message that is designed to increase awareness of the community for both tourism and economic development.

The Tupper Lake brand message and logotype treatment is the culmination of a year-long process, including a series of public meetings, surveys of residents and visitors, and a focus group of local stakeholders.

The Hyde Collection, Glens Falls, NY October 29 - December 31, 2016

The 2016 Artists of the Mohawk Hudson Region Juried Exhibition will be held October 29 through December 31, 2016 at The Hyde Collection, Glens Falls, New York. The Hyde will celebrate the 80th anniversary of this regional, one of the longest-running regionals in the country, with a museum-wide exhibition. The exhibition is collaboratively sponsored by The Hyde Collection, the Albany Institute of History & Art, and the University Art Museum, University at Albany, and rotates between the three organizations.
