ENVASES INVESTING $16.6m AND ADDING 65 NEW JOBS
Envases Ohio, LLC, has announced plans to create 65 new positions, retain 109 employees and invest approximately $16.6 million into its 4600 Oak Harbor Road facility in Fremont.
“Envases is in a period of significant growth in our industry. We are training and developing our team to support long-term sustainable growth with visions to double our plant size and output in the coming years.,” stated Amy Reinmeyer, Human Resources Director of Envases. “Our growth has created the need for more employees, but we must be able to train and retain in order to realize our potential and opportunity. We have evaluated our current onboarding and training program and have added more detail and duration to support the needs of new team members.” This project includes the purchase of a building, machinery, internal upgrades, and training.
This project will take roughly 20 months to complete from the time the PO was issued to the commission from the Equipment Manufacturer. Logistics in shipping the equipment and travel for technicians coming from Europe have caused delays. The new line will be fully operational by December 1st, 2021. The project is being assisted with a $200,000 JobsOhio Workforce Grant.

STANDARD TECHNOLOGIES INVESTING OVER $800,000 AND ADDING 2 NEW JOBS
Standard Technologies, LLC has announced plans to create 2 new positions, retain 119 employees and invest $829,999 into its 2641 W. Hayes Avenue facility in Fremont.
Since 1916, Standard Technologies has maintained a customer-first mentality, always considering how their products and services will impact both the customer and the end-user. Standard Technologies is a leading partner for OEM manufacturers in the agriculture machinery, construction equipment, commercial vehicle, energy, and recreational vehicle markets, among many others. With the capability and experience to supply any market that requires custom metal fabrications and assemblies, fuel tanks, hydraulic reservoirs, battery trays, and metal enclosures.
“Standard Technologies is investing in a robotic cell to further increase our capacity” stated Max Valentine, CEO of Standard Technologies. “The cell will use fixturing devices, a material handling robot, and an additional welding robot to build our products”.
Standard Technologies project is being assisted with a $25,000 grant from JobsOhio. The JobsOhio Inclusion Grant exists to provide financial support for eligible projects in designated distressed communities and/or for businesses owned by underrepresented populations across the state. The JobsOhio Inclusion Grant assists Standard Technologies with project costs such as fixed asset investments, machinery and equipment, real estate investments including redevelopment, and training costs.

Ohio Truck Sales will be opening a location at 180 Premier Drive in Clyde. The company will be moving their refurbishing and painting department currently in Sandusky to the 80,000 square foot building which was purchased in November. The company will be investing approximately $8 million at this location in which they are estimating a March 2022 open date.

VSCTC Received Innovative Workforce Incentive Program Grant
Lt. Governor Jon Husted has announced that VSCTC is among the 54 Ohio school districts to be awarded grant money through the Innovative Workforce Incentive Program. VSCTC was awarded $675,347 of the total $13.5 million that will be used to establish new programs for high school students to earn industry-recognized credentials and complete pre-apprenticeship opportunities in multiple sectors.

The Ohio Small Business Development Center at Terra State Community College is offering free, three-hour seminars, “Small Business Basics,” that will answer questions about starting, buying or expanding a small business.
This seminar will take the confusion out of your efforts and help you avoid costly mistakes and unnecessary steps. Learn the basics of name registration, licensing, taxes, zoning, business entities, employees, insurance, financing and business planning. The January schedule is:

Starting with the January round, the following updates have been implemented to provide additional flexibility for businesses:
- Grant agreements will no longer be separate documents; they will be incorporated into the online application portal.
- Training for approved credentials may start on or after the first day of the month immediately following the last application period. Training programs must still be completed in less than 12 months from the award date.
The next TechCred application period opens Monday, Jan. 3, and closes at 3 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31. Businesses with employees who have completed their TechCred training should submit proof of credential completion to receive reimbursement at TechCred.Ohio.Gov.

Loan Programs to Help Minority and Women-Owned Businesses | |
Two new loan programs have launched to help minority- and women-owned businesses grow and boost the Ohio economy.
The new Women's Business Enterprise Loan Program and Ohio Micro-Loan Program were both priority initiatives of the DeWine-Husted Administration included in the 2022-2023 operating budget.
· Women’s Business Enterprise Loan Program: These loans will be offered at or below market rate and currently are up to 3%. The minimum loan amount is $45,000 up to a maximum of $500,000. Loans will be repaid within 10 years for equipment and machinery and 15 years for owner-occupied real estate. Businesses must be 51% ownership and control by women or be certified as a Women-owned Business Enterprise (WBE).
· Ohio Micro-Loan Program: These loans will have a 0% interest rate. The minimum loan is $10,000 up to a maximum of $45,000. Loans will be repaid within five years for permanent working capital and seven years for equipment. Businesses must be certified as a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) or a Women-owned Business Enterprise (WBE).
