I have been so lucky to go to World Superbike and Moto GP races and motorcycle events around the world. That said, the Isle of Man TT is by far the most fantastic event I've ever been to! The ambiance of the island, all the motorcyclists and their bikes, the riders on track, the pits, and the energy of the event is simply out of this world! There is no race anywhere on the planet like it. One lap is 37.7 miles long. To give you some perspective, imagine riding your bike on surface streets (no freeways) from downtown LA to the Santa Monica Pier then all the way back to downtown LA…AND do it in less than 17 minutes! The superbike racers do this for SIX laps! Mind blowing!
If you have ever thought you would like to go it’s not too late to make arrangements for this year. But you better hurry! Qualifying week starts on Monday, May 24th and the race week runs from June 1st to June 8th. If you can’t make it race week, it’s still very much worth the trip to see the qualifying.
