| | Federal Way Community Members Complete Finance Course | | |
Two groups of Federal Way residents recently completed financial literacy programs designed to help participants build a strong foundation for long-term financial success. In total, 28 community members graduated from the City-sponsored Bob Towne Financial Literacy Program and Mujer al Volante's Managing Your Finances Program.
Since fall 2023, more than 200 Federal Way residents have completed City-offered financial education programs, which have also included the WSECU Psychology of Spending class.
The Bob Towne Financial Literacy Program, presented by the City of Federal Way in partnership with dedicated community volunteers and Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University, offers a free nine-week course focused on budgeting, debt reduction, saving, and building financial confidence.
The upcoming session will run Thursdays from January 29 through March 26, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Federal Way Community Center. Free child care is available. To register, please email Bill Vadino or call 253-835-2420.
| | King County Offering Free Storm Debris Drop-Off Locations | | |
In response to the recent storms in our area, King County is offering free storm debris drop-off at a variety of locations around the area. There will be no charge for flood debris brought to the following locations on the designated dates and times.

The City is planning to conduct interviews at upcoming council meetings with a focus on filling open positions on:

- Diversity Commission
- Historic Landmark Commission
- Independent Salary Commission

Join the City of Federal Way, King County Library System, and the Refugee Artisan Initiative for a FREE Mending Fair on Sunday, Feb. 1, at the Federal Way Library.
Each participant can bring up to TWO articles of clothing.
Mending is limited to visible mending.
If you need a garment to be hemmed, you must be able to measure your own inseam. A tape measure will be provided.

The Senior Advisory Commission is hosting a free Senior Health and Resource Fair on Tuesday, May 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Performing Arts and Event Center.
The event will feature more than 50 vendors from local organizations with special ties to the senior community. All ages – especially seniors – are welcome.
This Senior Resource Fair is intended to create a welcoming space where attendees can explore available services at their own pace.
