Future Firehouse
Concord Township Fire Department would once again like to thank the community for their support in updating our facilities in order to continue to provide quality service well into the future! The sign makes the project official and very soon, depending on weather conditions, you will start seeing activity on the construction site. We will be posting a date for the Ceremonial Ground Breaking very soon and welcome you all to join us!
Happy New Year
We were honored to once again participate in the Wreath Across America Ceremony on December 18, 2021 at the Concord Township Cemetery. Each Veteran’s headstone had a wreath placed, thanks to your generosity. We were grateful that so many of you honored our local heroes. Thank you again for your support.
The Service Department is busy in the winter months maintaining pot holes, ditch lines, evaluating roads, and performing equipment maintenance. Some of the duties the crews perform are restoring our equipment in-house, repainting equipment to prevent rust and to prolong its life. Crews also work on building maintenance and enhancements. When the winter weather causes adverse conditions on the roads, our crews respond to it at all hours of the day. If the snow and ice conditions persist, the crews use smart salting practices to reduce excessive use of salt by only salting hills, curves, and intersections. This helps keep these areas under control and reduces the effects of salt on our environment.

During winter weather events requiring our crews to be out in the plow trucks, we remind motorists to give the trucks plenty of room on the roadway to perform their duties. Allow for more travel time when winter weather strikes so you can get to your destination safely.

As we work through the winter months, the Service Department begins planning for the 2022 construction season. We are working with the Lake County Storm Water Department on future enhancements to storm water runoff. We are also planning for the concrete slab replacement program and road resurfacing projects as part of our wintertime duties.

The Service Department is available to residents with questions or concerns Monday- Friday from 7am-3:30pm at 440-350-3225 or by contacting us via e-mail at tbrown@concordtwp.com or sbobnar@concordtwp.com. We hope the residents of Concord Township have a safe and healthy New Year!
