Amherst College Graduate

Evan works for Teach for America, which focuses on placing teachers in high-need schools where many or most students are low-income and considered at-risk. Evan works as a high school English teacher in Memphis, Tennessee.

After Vanguard, she attended Amherst College in Amherst, Massachusetts where she received the Amherst College Scholarship.

Congratulations Colton Treadwell
Seminary of the Southwest - Class of 2019

Colton completed his Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the Seminary of the Southwest. He will be moving to East Texas as part of the Harrison Fellowship Program to work in an underserved area. He will work at Burke Center - a mental health authority serving several counties.

After graduating from Vanguard in 2012, he attended Sewanee: The University of the South. Colton double majored in Psychology and Art graduating with a Bachelor of Arts Cum Laude in May 2016.

In the summer of 2014, he was selected for an internship at the Yale Child Study Center at Yale University. He conducted research collaborating between Yale and Cogstate, a cognitive science company. The research concerned cognitive measures used for children, and the application of those measures in the area of concussion testing. His work resulted in the presentation of an academic poster at the Yale Child Study Center .

Congratulations Callie Hyde
Georgetown Law School - Class of 2019

She graduated with Pro Bono Honors and a Graduate Certificate in Refugees and Humanitarian Emergencies. She will be clerking for the Honorable Robert Okun in D.C. Superior Court, beginning in September this year. Callie graduated from Vanguard in 2012.
Congratulations Lucy McClinton
Vanguard Class of 2018

She is working for the CFO of Common Cause, a non-profit government reform group, to help with yearly audits and other day-to-day tasks. At University of Virginia, she was recently accepted into the McIntire School of Commerce where she plans to major in both Accounting and Finance along with a minor in Math.

The Annual Arminda Bewley Scholarship was awarded to Kaytlu Offill!

Her mother is Alumnus, Emily Fowler Offill.

Mr. Bill Bewley presented the award at the end-of-year Awards Night.

Our hearts go out the the McNamara and Clifton Families.

Former Vanguard Faculty Member, Joann McNamara Clifton passed away this past month. She will be missed! Her grandson. Michael T. McNamara, will be moving up to our 8th grade class in the Fall. She was loved by so many alumni.
Liquid Paper 2018 - 2019
Liquid Paper is a literary journal consisting of the creative work of the student body. Students volunteer to serve on the committees that review, select, and compile the selections that appear in the journal.
