The L ORD our God is one
The Bible consistently declares there is one true and living God, the self-revealed Creator who alone must be worshiped. All other gods are false. But what does it mean, as the Shema declares, that "the L ORD our God, the L ORD is one" (Deut. 6:4-5)?

A look into Sheol
Old Testament writers employ the word Sheol 65 times to describe the abode of the dead. It communicates the reality of human mortality and the impact of people's lives on their destinies. While the Old Testament consistently refers to the bodies of deceased people going to the grave, it always refers to the soul or spirit of that person going to Sheol .

What every Christian should know about salvation
What does it mean to be saved? And how does God's work of redemption span time and eternity to provide a remedy for sin, which has ruined everything and alienated everyone from Him? What Every Christian Should Know About Salvation explores 12 Bible terms that describe God's work to restore us to a right relationship with Him.

How Scripture uses the word "God"
To avoid confusion when seeking to understand the Trinity, we need to explore three ways the Bible employs the word "God" and the ways we use it in our theology. Otherwise, we may be tempted to see the Trinity as three gods.

Meet Colten Wright
Colten Wright is the newest member of the Missouri Baptist Apologetics Network. He serves as a lay leader at Macks Creek Baptist Church and teaches on a variety of apologetics topics, with particular -- and personal -- interest in the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

New from High Street Press
High Street Press, the publishing imprint of the Missouri Baptist Convention, has just released a new resource for personal or group study: Jesus Before Bethlehem: What Every Christian Should Know About the Angel of the L ORD . This 335-page resource explores dozens of Old Testament Christophanies , or appearances of the preincarnate Christ. Written for pastors and laypersons, the study is designed to show how the eternal Son of God has always taken a personal interest in those He created to be His imagers on earth.
