Sip on Soup
cook-off!

In 2018 & 2019 Old Baldy partnered with Island Hardware to host a soup cook-off for an opportunity to come together with the island community and toast to a new year! We were met with success and are looking forward to hosting the third annual "Sip on Soup" on Wednesday, December 29th
from 3-6 pm!

Join us to sample all of the soup entries from professional and amateur chefs or break out your apron and join the competition by entering a pot of soup!

Special Fundraising Drive at "Sip on Soup" for the Lighthouse Learners Scholarship program!

This year's soup cook off proceeds will be going specifically to our Lighthouse Learners program at the event! Help us bring a record breaking amount of 4th grade students to Bald Head in 2022. After two years of cancelled field trips due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are eager to bring students back to BHI. Read more about a field trip to Old Baldy below!

Every year hundreds of fourth grade students take a field trip to Bald Head Island, North Carolina, to visit Old Baldy, the state's oldest standing lighthouse. Field trips to Old Baldy Lighthouse are an unforgettable educational experience!
The Old Baldy Foundation subsidizes ferry tickets and admission fees for classes taking a field trip to Old Baldy Lighthouse through the Lighthouse Learners Scholarship Program. This scholarship program awards funds up to $800 to qualifying, North Carolina fourth grade classrooms. Preference is given to Title I schools; however, other schools may qualify. Scholarship funds are available through grants and private donations. The availability of scholarship funds varies year by year.
