Here at BSS, we are working hard to get our buildings ready for the 2026-2027 school year. Just to give you some updates, this summer we are replacing the floors and updating the bathrooms in the elementary school building and updating our middle school gym floor.

We would also like to welcome all of our new enrolling families whose children will start at Blessed Sacrament School this Fall!

Important Changes & Information for the 2026-2027 School Year

1. DoorDash

Blessed Sacrament School will not permit DoorDash, Grubhub, Uber Eats, and similar services on the school campus during the school day. These deliveries create additional traffic around the school and present a safety concern due to unauthorized people entering the campus. For these reasons, parents should not arrange for food to be delivered to school. Any food delivered to campus by these services will not be given to the students. They will be offered a peanut butter/jelly sandwich. They can take the food home at dismissal. We appreciate your support in maintaining a safe and orderly campus environment. BSS Families can still order through MyHot Lunchbox.

2. Immunizations/Health Assessment-Rising Kindergarten

Your child is about to enter kindergarten. We wanted to take this opportunity to remind you that your child must meet North Carolina immunization requirements for school entry. Below is a basic guide to the immunizations required for school entry.

1. DTaP (diphtheria, tetanus, and acellular pertussis) 5 doses
2. Rubella 1 dose
3. Polio 4 doses
4. Hib (Haemophilus influenzae type B) 3-4 doses
5. Measles 2 doses; Hepatitis B (Hep B) 3 doses
6. Mumps 2 doses Varicella (chickenpox) 2 doses
7. Pneumococcal Conjugate 4 doses.

Parents have 30 calendar days from a students first day of school to provide the official immunization record. If the required record or documentation from a healthcare provider showing that a required vaccine series has been started and is being completed on schedule is not submitted within that period, the student must be excluded from school until the documentation is provided. North Carolina sets its own school immunization requirements through state law and has maintained requirements that remain closely aligned with the American Academy of Pediatrics' recommendations, despite changes to some federal recommendations.

Health Assessment

North Carolina requires all children entering kindergarten to have a Kindergarten Health Assessment. The examination must be completed within 12 months before the child's first day of school, and the completed Health Assessment form must be submitted to the school within 30 calendar days of the student's first day of attendance. Blessed Sacrament School can provide the required form, or you may obtain it from your child's physician.

2. Inmunizaciones/Evaluación de Salud - Kindergarten

Tu hijo está a punto de empezar el jardín de infancia. Queríamos aprovechar esta oportunidad para recordarle que su hijo debe cumplir con los requisitos de vacunación de Carolina del Norte para acceder a la escuela. A continuación, una guía básica sobre las vacunas necesarias para el acceso a la escuela.

4. Water Bottles

After considering the recommendations of our teachers, students will only be permitted to bring clear plastic water bottles to school this year. In the past, some reusable water bottles have been very heavy and, unfortunately, have contained beverages other than plain water, such as fruit juice or tea. To help ensure student safety and maintain a clean learning environment, only plain water will be allowed in student water bottles.

To support this policy, Blessed Sacrament School will provide each student with a Clear Impact Halcyon Water Bottle with Flip Straw Lid (24 oz.). These bottles are assembled in the United States, and all components are BPA-free.

4. Botellas de agua

Tras considerar las recomendaciones de nuestros profesores, este año solo se permitirá que los estudiantes lleven botellas de agua de plástico transparente al colegio. En el pasado, algunas botellas reutilizables de agua han sido muy pesadas y, lamentablemente, han contenido bebidas distintas al agua simple, como zumo de fruta o té. 5. Middle School Girl Winter Uniform Vest- 6th-8th Grades

Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, girls will no longer be permitted to wear the cardigan sweater with the winter uniform. Instead, all girls are required to wear the official logo vest as part of the winter uniform. The required logo vest will provide a more uniform and polished appearance, helping to ensure consistency and neatness throughout the school. Please

visit our uniform school supplier, Tommy Hilfiger, on our BSS website to order the school vest.

All rising 5th graders will continue to wear the elementary school uniform. They will no longer be wearing the middle school uniforms as in previous school years.

5. Chaleco de uniforme de invierno para chicas de middle school - 6º-8º curso

A partir del curso escolar 2026–2027, las niñas ya no podrán llevar el suéter de chaqueta junto con el uniforme de invierno. If your child is going into kindergarten, please send their updated Immunization Records to the office and have your child's doctor fill out a Health Assessment Form!

Make sure you submit an updated Emergency Contact Form for the 2026-2027 school year. CLICK HERE if you would rather print one out and return it to our school office. This form is required for all students to remain in our buildings.

If you would like your child to do sports, make sure you have an Athletic Physical Form completed by your child's physician, and complete/bring back the BSS Athletic Forms before your child starts sports practices. Submit a completed Media Form and a Walking Permissions Slip Form for each child, as we use this last form to walk to mass each Friday. Attending mass is mandatory for students in K-8.

• Drop-in rate: $15.00 per day
• Monthly rate until 4:30 pm: $105.00 per child
• Monthly rate until 6:00 pm: $180.00 per child

If your child ever needs to take medication during school hours, please never send that in your child's school book bag. Summer Office Hours

Our Summer Office Hours are from Monday through Thursday from 9 am until 1 pm for BSS families that need to turn in required forms, make payments, or have general questions about the upcoming school year. If you need to make an appointment with any member of our administrative staff, please call Leslie Miranda, our office administrator at 336-570-0019. Since there will be construction happening on both campuses, please call before you come in.

PE Uniforms:

You can still purchase PE uniforms locally at Graham Sporting Goods. They have yellow PE shirts, solid sweatpants, and zip-up jackets. You do NOT have to get the logo on the sweatpants, but it must be on the jacket and sweatshirt.

PE pants need to be solid navy. There should not be any lines down the sides or decals on them.
