The Life & Art of Charles M. Schulz
"Charles Monroe Schulz brightened the world for over 50 years with his Peanuts comic strip, which debuted October 2, 1950. With Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and the rest of the lovable Peanuts Gang, Schulz explored the emotional territory of friendship, disappointment, faith, and tolerance. He was an artist and a storyteller who transformed images of everyday life into art that captured the humor, vulnerability, and dignity of the human spirit. Through Peanuts, Schulz connected people everywhere with his drawings and stories, The Life & Art of Charles M. Schulz explores Schulz's personal history and his role as the sole inspiration and artistic talent behind Peanuts and its unique cast of characters." -alamancearts.org
Last Wednesday, November 13th, our 6th-grade class visited the Alamance Arts in Graham, NC to look at the works of Charles M. Schulz, creator of Charlie Brown. The exhibit is open through January 17, 2025.

Sleep for Success!
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, the proper amount of sleep is detrimental to a child’s health, learning, and mental well-being. Kids aged 6-13 need 9-11 hours of sleep, while teens aged 14-17 need 8-10 hours each night. Screen time before bed can make it harder for kids to fall asleep because it keeps them alert and raises their heart rate. The light from screens can also interfere with melatonin, a hormone that helps aid sleep.
