Teacher & Staff Spotlight

This school year has brought many changes to Blessed Sacrament School. For the first time in over a decade, we have several double classes and we are blessed to be able to hire more teachers. We want our school community to get to know our teachers and staff better, so we have chosen to bring back our Teacher & Staff Spotlight. We will feature a teacher or staff member with their short bio and interesting facts about them every week. This week we are introducing our Third Grade Teacher, Ms. Charlene Clark!

Ms. Charlene Clark is a devoted Christian and cat lover. She has a wonderful family of three; including, her 15-year-old son, Akeem, who is currently attending Cristo Rey Research Triangle High School, and her cat Ginger. Before coming to BSS, she was a public school classroom teacher for ten years. Most of her experience is in elementary education, but she has also taught middle school students. She took a break for one school year and lived in West Africa. During her time there, she worked on launching an educational business and volunteered at local schools. Ms. Clark used to be the Interventionist assigned at BSS by Catapult Learning, until recently when she accepted a teaching position at BSS to become our third-grade teacher.

Ms. Clark is originally from Roxboro, NC, and briefly moved to Virginia during her teen years. Later, she moved back to North Carolina and settled in the Burlington area with her family to finish her high school senior year. Ms. Clark graduated from UNC Greensboro in 2012 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and obtained her teacher’s license the same year.

Her favorite pastime is watching Crime Shows and scrolling on social media. She considers herself a social butterfly and enjoys group activities such as playing board games, karaoke, or going out to dinner with friends. She also likes to find community events and activities to explore with her son. She is very active in the community and participates in youth mentoring programs.

A fun fact about Ms. Clark is that she is currently working on writing a book that is geared toward single mothers. She loves traveling and would like to explore the world and learn more about different cultures one day. Ms.Clark is very excited to be the third-grade teacher this year!

Lunch & Uniforms Information

Winter Uniforms

Friendly reminder, we will transition to our Winter Uniforms next Monday, November 6!

Winter uniforms begin next Monday, November 6. Just a few reminders:

  1. French Toast items run very differently in sizing from Lands End. Sounds like the tops are much smaller.
  2. Review our Uniform Guidelines by CLICKING HERE.
  3. If you order any logo items and they are the wrong size, they CANNOT be returned.
  4. Orders are arriving in about a week. So if you need new shirts, you should order them as soon as possible to receive them in time.
  5. Graham Sporting Goods is the ONLY provider of PE shirts. French Toast will not be offering them.

We have new Corporate Sponsorship Opportunities for the 2023-2024 school year. We would love to help promote your business, while you support our school!

Money raised during the 2022-2023 school year was used for several major and unexpected expenses. We are in the process of replacing our 26-year-old Fire Alarm System at the Main Campus. We also replaced and repaired flooring in several areas of the building. A few rooms also received new paint!

Due to increased enrollment, we purchased 100 new Chromebooks for our students. None of these things would have been possible without the support of our community!
