We greeted all our students on Thursday, August 20th! Witnessing the smiles of our students as they made their way to our buildings on the first day of school is truly a joy. It's always a wonderful day to be a Knight!  💙💛

First School Mass of the Year

Today, Friday, August 21st, we celebrated our first school Mass of the 2026-2027 school year. Fr. Vincent talked to our students about how God knows everything in their lives and then asked them what love is. We heard many different answers from our students, from " sharing is caring to being joyful and kind. Fr. Vincent reminded everybody to treat each other with love.

A big thank you to John Dowd!

After Mass, we had the pleasure of welcoming Mr. John Dowd for a special visit. He is a proud BSS Alumnus who attended what is now the middle school back in the 60s. Mr. Dowd expressed his gratitude for the support BSS provided his family with tuition, and in return, he has generously donated to help create a recreational area for our middle school students to enjoy during recess. Fr. Vincent and Mrs. Gomez honored the space with a special blessing, naming it "The Ray and Angela Dowd Recreational Area." Thank you, John Dowd, for your incredible contribution to our school community!

We celebrated the opening of the field with Mr. Dowd's inaugural kick of the soccer ball. Go Knights!

DoorDash

Blessed Sacrament School will not permit DoorDash, Grubhub, Uber Eats, and similar services on the school campus during the school day. These deliveries create additional traffic around the school and present a safety concern due to unauthorized people entering the campus. For these reasons, parents should not arrange for food to be delivered to school. Any food delivered to campus by these services will not be given to the students. They will be offered a peanut butter/jelly sandwich. They can take the food home at dismissal. We appreciate your support in maintaining a safe and orderly campus environment. BSS Families can still order through MyHot Lunchbox.

Water Bottles

After considering the recommendations of our teachers, students will only be permitted to bring clear plastic water bottles to school this year. In the past, some reusable water bottles have been very heavy and, unfortunately, have contained beverages other than plain water, such as fruit juice or tea. To help ensure student safety and maintain a clean learning environment, only plain water will be allowed in student water bottles.

To support this policy, Blessed Sacrament School will provide each student with a Clear Impact Halcyon Water Bottle with Flip Straw Lid (24 oz.). These bottles are assembled in the United States, and all components are BPA-free. They will receive the first one free of charge, but any additional water bottles needed due to loss/breakage will cost $5.00

Middle School Girl Winter Uniform Vest- 6th-8th Grades

Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, girls will no longer be permitted to wear the cardigan sweater with the winter uniform. Instead, all girls are required to wear the official logo vest as part of the winter uniform. The required logo vest will provide a more uniform and polished appearance, helping to ensure consistency and neatness throughout the school. Please

visit our uniform school supplier, Tommy Hilfiger, on our BSS website to order the school vest.

All rising 5th graders will continue to wear the elementary school uniform. They will no longer be wearing the middle school uniforms as in previous school years. 5th grade girls will wear the Middle School Unifroms.

Blessed Sacrament School is now a member of The Piedmont Middle School Athletic Conference (PMAC). The Principles of the Piedmont Middle School Athletic Conference (PMAC) are:

1. To promote Sportsmanship ideals among the member schools, teams, and participants.
2. To encourage the individual youth to develop to his/her highest potential.
3. To promote the teaching of basic skills, the development of individual talents, and teamwork.
4. To create an atmosphere of competition and recreation.

Participating Schools:

The Burlington School, Alamance Community School, Blessed Sacrament School, Grace Christian Academy, Gorman Christian Academy, The Hawbridge School. Most sports, students from 5th-8th grade are eligible to participate.

The NC Opportunity Scholarship has opened for Fall Endorsement in your MyPortal. Once you receive the email notification, please make sure you endorse that your child is attending Blessed Sacrament School. Review your To Do List for any pending tasks you may have to do.

PE Uniforms:

You can still purchase PE uniforms locally at Graham Sporting Goods. They have yellow PE shirts, solid sweatpants, and zip-up jackets. You do NOT have to get the logo on the sweatpants, but it must be on the jacket and sweatshirt.

PE pants need to be solid navy. There should not be any lines down the sides or decals on them.
